School safety has been in the forefront of our minds lately.  While the recent incidents we have faced have been challenging, I am very pleased with the safety plans that we have in place, and the overarching desire by everyone to continue to improve in any way we can to protect our students, faculty and staff, and the consistent support of our parents and stakeholders.
Dear Bishop Chatard community, As anxiety-provoking and frustrating as our recent heightened security situation has been for us all, I think it is important that we recognize that we are dealing with a troubled young man. Troubled or not, he remains a child of God. Continue reading here...
News & Events
Holy Thursday Rosary
April 18 ~ 7 a.m.
All are invited to join in praying the Rosary before school on Holy Thursday, April 18. The rosary will begin at 7 a.m. in the BCHS main gym. Praying the rosary generally takes approximately 20 minutes. P lease park in the back parking lot and enter the school via Door #10. Please use parking space #s 113-118 and #148-153 first. If those spots are full, feel free to park in any open spot. No RSVP is needed. All are welcome!
Lunch Accounts
The end of the school year is quickly approaching. A student must have money in his or her lunch account in order to purchase breakfast or lunch. Beginning April 8, any student owing more than $10 may be offered an alternative meal of a cheese sandwich, a vegetable, a fruit and a milk. If you have any concerns or questions, please contact Brenda Henry, Cafeteria Manager, at bhenry@bishopchatard.org .
Choir Auditions 
April 17
Auditions for advanced choirs, Vox Troian (formerly known as the Liturgial Choir) and Sounds of Silas (A Cappella choir), will take place in room 115 on Wed., April 17, beginning at 3:30 p.m. Current freshmen, sophomores and juniors are invited. Incoming 8th grade students who currently sing in the Indianapolis Children's Choir, the ArchIndy Youth Choir, or equivalent are also invited to audition by appointment. Easter Egg Hunt 
April 20
Join Bishop Chatard for the annual BCHS Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 20. Our youngest Future Trojans are invited to bring their Easter baskets to collect eggs on the front lawn of the school and then join us in the gymnasium for activities and games. Little ones will have an opportunity to meet the Easter Bunny and have a photo taken. View event details and RSVP here! 
Walk-A-Thon 2019
The Annual BCHS Student Walk-a-Thon will take place on Friday, April 26. Parents received an email on Monday with more information. Click here to read all the details about WAT 2019!
Prom 2019 - The Roaring 20s
April 27
The Bishop Chatard Prom will take place at the Fountain Square Theatre on Saturday, April 27, from 8 - 11 p.m. Students must arrive by 8:30 p.m. and cannot leave until 10:30 p.m. More information can be found here. Questions? Contact Katie Hilton at khilton@bishopchatard.org.
Service Hours are due May 1
This is just a reminder that Service Hours are due on Wednesday, May 1. The service requirement is noted on high school transcripts. Please make sure everything is logged prior to May 1. Please check out the BCHS Service Page for a list of agencies as well as the @BCTrojanService for additional opportunities.

2019 Driver Education Registration
Bishop Chatard will be offering Driver Education this summer. The 2019 Summer Driver's Education Course at Bishop Chatard is a state-certified course open to all students who are at least 15 years of age by June 1, 2019. The cost is $400, which includes both the classroom session and the in-car driving sessions.

Cheerleading Tryouts
May 8 - 10
BCHS cheerleading tryouts will take place from Wednesday, May 8, through Friday, May 10, from 4 - 6 p.m. in the BCHS main gym. Wednesday and Thursday (May 8 & 9) consist of m andatory clinics, and the tryouts will start Friday, May 10, at 4 p.m.

Freshman Football
There will be a freshman football callout meeting on Thursday, April 25, at 6 p.m. for parents of those interested in playing freshman football for the 2019 season. Boys Basketball
The Boys Basketball team will be holding open workouts this spring in the main gym. These workouts are open to all boys in all grades who are interested in playing basketball who are not currently playing a spring sport. Visit our athletic website for more information under "Announcements."

Class of 2019 Admittance Letters due April 15
Due 4/15 : Class of 2019 students are asked to bring their college admittance letters and financial aid awards to Mrs. Alerding or Mrs. Nixon by Monday. This information is used for school data, Honors Night recognition, the senior page of the website, and the display in the hallway. It is important for us to have copies or photos of the actual letters or screenshots of the admission or financial aid online portals. They can be brought to room 213 or emailed to  aalerding@bishopchatard.org  or  pnixon@bishopchatard.org . In order for them to be included in the slides for Honors Night, they must be submitted by Monday, April 15.
