North Carolina Arts in Action invites you to the Performance Showcase of LEAP Team with
acclaimed Teaching Artist Duane Cyrus.

The LEAP Team (Learning Excellence and Perseverance) is NC AIA's group of alumni and current in-school program dancers, ages 9-15, from 10 partner schools, who want to expand their Arts in Action experience beyond the school day.
Our dancers have worked with Duane and his Theatre of Movement company over 10 sessions. Join us this Saturday to celebrate the culmination of the residency with a capstone performance open to parents and special guests.
Duane Cyrus is a professor of Dance at UNC Greensboro, a two-time North Carolina Arts Council choreography Fellow, holds a M.F.A. in Dance from the University of Illinois, and a B.F.A. in Dance from The Juilliard School. He has developed his method Theatre of Movement, which emphasizes engagement over instruction, and utilizes dance to explore educational themes as well as diversity and inclusion.
