Introducing: New $5,000 Down Payment Assistance Program

The Iowa Finance Authority is pleased to announce a new down payment and closing cost assistance program for Iowa home buyers - just as the spring home buying season is heating up! The program will be available for reservations beginning April 15.

Both the existing $2,500 grant and the loan are available through the FirstHome and Homes for Iowans Programs and the respective eligibility requirements apply. 

DOWN PAYMENT AND CLOSING COST ASSISTANCE OPTIONS FirstHome Grant: $2,500 2nd Loan: Up to $5,000*

Home For Iowans Grant: $2,500 2nd Loan: Up to $5,000*

*The 0% loan can be up to 5% of the sale price of the home or $5,000, (whichever is less) and is repayable at the time of sale or refinance. There are no monthly payments!
