Food Pantry First - This Sunday
We will be collecting donations for The New Trier Food Pantry on Sunday, February 3.  We had a wonderful response for our January collection - we filled the back of Debbie Ross's car!  Let's see if we can fill the car again this month!

The Pantry has asked for the following items this month:
* Paper Goods (Toilet Paper, Paper Towels, Kleenex)
* Pasta Sauce
* Juice and Juice Boxes

Please bring your donations to the Prevost Cloister following both services on Sunday, February 3.  As always, cash donations are also very welcome!!

Thank you for supporting this vital ministry in our community!

Have you remembered Christ Church in your will or estate plan?
Over 25  parishioners have informed us they have.  Will you consider joining them?
A gift from your estate is a gift that continues to benefit the mission of Christ Church beyond your lifetime. We all want the parish to grow and thrive beyond our lifetimes; an enduring gift helps fulfill that hope.

Silence the Violence - Film Screening & Discussion
Sunday, Feb. 10 - 4:15PM
A portion of our Prayers of the People each Sunday is the jarring part where we list the names of those shot and killed in Chicago each week. Join us for a firsthand look into the realities of gun violence in Chicago. Participants from the Family Matters' Boys-to-Men Program-young men who have been directly affected by gun violence- have made a short film called Silence the Violence. They speak to their reality and offer insights on ways to promote peace. We will watch the film in the sanctuary on Sunday, Feb. 10 at 4:15. It will be followed by a panel discussion with some of the participants in Boys-to-Men.

This event will be followed by the monthly Taizé service at 5:30PM.

Thank you to everyone who has given Christ Church a Grand receipt! When you give us your grocery receipt, The Grand Food Center donates 3% of your total to our Youth Mission Trip fund. In 2018, The Grand gave us $5,391 as a result of the receipt program! As a result, we are able to reduce our trip registration fee and make scholarship funds available for those who need it. Please keep bringing in your receipts! There are collection cans at the Church on the Hill and the Parish Office.

Youth Art Workshop Series: COLLAGE!

Our collage workshop is part of a series in which we are exploring a variety of materials to make art inspired by Galatians 5:22-23. The workshop will culminate in an art gallery display on Sunday, May 12. Please let Megan know if you or your child would like to participate and/or be a curator.

When we do construction and printmaking, there are a few household items we could use YOUR help collecting! Please bring the following to the Youth Room (empty):
  • SMALL- and medium-sized cardboard BOXES (i.e., from toothpaste, make-up, cereal - and especially, SHOE boxes)
  • Paper towel and toilet paper rolls
  • Styrofoam trays (what meat and some vegetables are sold on)Example link.
  • Jars

Acolytes are lay worship leaders. They carry crosses, candles, and other items in procession.
