Dear California Broads,
The Greater Bay Area Broadband will lobby in D.C to advocate for California wilderness in February. Broadband Leader Maureen Forney joins a team from the California Wilderness Coalition (CalWild) and Pew Charitable Trust to protect our treasured wild public lands.
The team will visit 24 Congressional offices, build relationships with the newest members in the House, and thank elected representatives for public lands legislation expected to be reintroduced in 2019.
The legislation includes:
Northwest California Wilderness, Recreation, and Working Forests Act (S3705)
San Gabriel Mountains, Foothills, and Rivers Protection Act (S3704)
- Central Coast Heritage Protection Act (CCHPA, S1959)
- H.R.376 - California Desert Protection and Recreation Act of 2019
As you know, the most effective way to influence our elected representatives is to visit their office. Maureen will hand deliver your letters directly to Congress--and she wants to carry a big stack!
Be sure to personalize your letters for the greatest impact. Hand written letters can be the most effective. Be sure to include your full name and address. Let’s get these lands protected!
