In November the Chapel Chimers returned to practicing after a long break from last December.  It was wonderful to begin the program again and to see the enthusiasm and to hear the laughter.  Returning Chimers are:  Carson Freese, Braylon Kannel, Katie Freese, Ellyot Hoyt, Bella Oren and Lily Thompson.  We welcome the new Chimers Maycee DeCent, Kynsley DeCent and Aviyah Hoyt.

Their first performance is Nov. 22 and they will play "All Things Bright and Beautiful".  Looking ahead, the Chimers will perform on Dec. 20.  This is also the day that the Sunday School children will celebrate their Christmas program.  Immanuel's Youngest Ringers will also play two songs on the colored metal bells.

The Hallelujah Bell Choir performed "Let All Things Now Living" together with flautist, Rachel Norwood.  Thank you Rachel for making this song very special.  A huge thank you also to Carson and Katie Freese for challenging themselves and doing an excellent job performing with us so we could ring 3 octaves instead of just 2.  We hope that they will be able to join us again in the future.  Awesome!

We will be performing on Dec. 13 and again at the 4:00 Christmas Eve service.

November is a time to reflect on all the many things we are thankful for, and a time to embrace both being blessed, and also being a blessing to others. A wonderful exercise to engage in with the children in our lives, is to discuss something to be thankful for, and a way we can be a blessing to others. Allow and engage children in an activity and a service to others-deliver a box of food to your neighbors, make a card and hand deliver it to friends, family-or better yet, someone you haven’t met yet! Our youth are being met with circumstances in these times beyond their control-let’s be positive mentors of discipleship, kindness, and faith!
The blessed holiday season is upon us, and we are excited for some fun Christmas plans in the works for our Children’s Ministry and families. Look out for communications via Tuesday and Friday emails, Children’s Ministry and ILC Facebook pages, and flyers. I am so very THANKFUL for our Sunday School teachers and volunteers, Judy Kirchoff and beautiful music, and my own incredible family who continues to grow in God’s love each day.
Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.

Hello Kingdom families!

Thank heavens for the wonderful weather! We were able to get in a game of “after dark kickball” and a lovely campfire at the parsonage :)

Our journey through “Alpha” is going well. Last week the topic was “faith”, this week it will be “prayer”.  Our discussion groups are getting more comfortable with each other. We have some fantastic mentors, if you get the chance, please thank them for their dedication to our youth.
We also have been blessed with yummy and healthy food each Wednesday evening!! Thanks to the many wonderful people who have sponsored meals. One last, but definitely not least, is our favorite photographer, Marian Segersten:) she is generous with her time with us and is great at getting some lovely candid photos!

We are abundantly blessed in many ways, with our life at Immanuel.
It’s what we do, it’s who we are
In Christ:)
In Christ:)
God bless
Faithfully,

Psalm 92:5- How great are your works LORD!
A note about the Alpha program the youth are participating in each week. This is Youth Alpha and differs some from the Alpha course that many of us participated in several years ago at Immanuel. This Alpha is designed for youth. The youth are divided into small groups with an adult leader(s). Each session begins with a video featuring two young men, Ben and Jason. They introduce the lesson for the week. They use many various ways doing this, humor, speaking, some drama scenes, various props, etc. As the session goes on they will ask three questions. People on the street give their answer to the question and then the video is paused and the small groups have a time to discuss the question among themselves. After the final question is discussed Ben and Jason summarize the lesson.
Pastor Appreciation

October was Pastor Appreciation month. Casey Kannel, council president presented Pastor Paul a gift for him and Jill on behalf of the congregation on Sunday, November 8.
Pastor Paul had this response in the “TT – Tuesday Talk-points, ”On Tuesday, November 10. On Sunday, it was acknowledged that October had been “Pastor Appreciation Month” and Jill and I were presented with a thoughtful card, and generous gift on behalf of the congregation. Thank you! I never quite know what to say in receiving this recognition, other than to say “thank you” and that “it is my honor and privilege to serve at Immanuel as pastor.” But one thing I did not say, that needs to be said, is that I am just one part of a ministry team that is committed to the well-being of the mission and ministries of Christ at Immanuel. We are so blessed with a gifted church staff, faithful council members, and so many church members, who are devoted to promoting the preaching and teaching of Christ at Immanuel, and who live the Gospel in their daily lives. I appreciate, and give thanks to God, for every one of you!
