ALAMEDA SEAPLANE ROUTE, EXPANDED SCHEDULES AND LOWER FARES OFFICIALLY LAUNCH
On July 1, WETA celebrated the relaunch of San Francisco Bay Ferry service by cutting the ribbon on the recently built terminal at Seaplane Lagoon in Alameda. The new Alameda Seaplane route provides direct weekday commute service between Alameda and San Francisco and allows for faster travel times between San Francisco and Oakland on the revamped Oakland & Alameda.

New enhanced schedules are also now in effect on the Harbor Bay, Richmond and Vallejo routes. Weekend service is available on the Oakland & Alameda, Richmond and Vallejo routes. Fares on all routes have decreased significantly for the next year.

Curious about which route you should take from Alameda now that there is a new terminal? Alameda ferry riders should use the following service based on their time and day of travel:

  • Peak weekday commute (before 9:30 a.m.): Alameda Seaplane or Harbor Bay
  • Middays: Oakland & Alameda
  • Weekday evenings: Both routes suitable, check schedules for specific departure times
  • Weekends: Oakland & Alameda

THE BEST WAY BACK TO THE BALLPARK
It may not be an even year, but the Giants are winning, and you don’t want to miss it! We encourage all fans to skip the traffic and ride the ferries to and from San Francisco. With expanded schedules now in place, taking transit to the ballpark is easier than ever. For the remainder of the 2021 season, we’re offering the following service for Giants home games:

  • Pre- and post-game service for all evening games for Oakland and Main Street Alameda
  • Post-game service for all evening games for Vallejo
  • Pre-game service for weekend evening games for Vallejo

We will also debut a new pilot service, the Ballpark Short Hop, on July 10. This short hop will serve weekend day games, and will provide a new connection to Oracle Park for San Francisco Bay Ferry routes serving the Downtown San Francisco Ferry Terminal.
