(March 17, 2020) – As a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of
employees, citizens, clients and the general public
, the Central Council of Tlingit & Haida Indian Tribes of Alaska’s (Tlingit & Haida) offices in Juneau, Alaska and all remote field offices will be closed to the public beginning Wednesday, March 18, 2020 and will remain in effect until further notice.
Although offices will be closed to visitors, Tlingit & Haida will continue to operate during normal business hours to ensure there are no interruptions to client services and that all support payments are processed in a timely manner. All clients will be informed of the following changes in protocol that will ensure services continue without in-person contact:
- All elevators and entrances will be locked to reduce person-to-person contact with the public.
- Relevant and necessary applications and forms will be placed in a convenient and accessible location for applicants/clients.
- Applicants/clients will be instructed to submit applications, forms and paperwork via email or by utilizing the drop box at each of Tlingit & Haida’s office locations.
- Hearings related to Tribal Court will be conducted telephonically and interactions with applicants/clients will be conducted electronically (i.e., telephone, video conference, email, text).
