FIELD, Eugene (1850-1895)

Eugene Field, an American journalist, editor, poet, and best known for his children's poetry and humorous essay. After his mother's death in 1856, he and He worked for many newspapers until the Chicago Daily News offered him a job writing a humorous column called "Sharps and Flats". He also published many volumes of poetry and prose. Dubbed "The Poet of Childhood"

Malcolm Cowley was an American literary critic, poet, editor and a social historian who went on to become a representative of the America's 'Lost Generation' after the World War I. COUGHLIN, Father Charles Edward (1891-1979)

Father Charles E. Coughlin was an American Canadian Roman Catholic Priest born in Hamilton, Ontario and ordained to the priesthood in Toronto in 1916 with the Basilian Fathers. He taught at Assumption College, also operated by the Basilians, in Windsor, Ontario.
When his religious order was re-organized in 1923, he moved to Detroit. In 1926, he ministered at the Shrine of the Little Flower in Royal Oak, Michigan, and began his radio broadcasts, reaching an audience of 30 million people...

LIVESAY, Dorothy (1909-1996)

Dorothy Livesay is considered one of Canada's pre-eminent poets and the winner of two Governor General's Awards (1944, 1947). Following the publication of Green Pitcher (1928) when she was only nineteen years of age, she published Signpost (1932).

Rare document, signed 6-1/2 x 8 inches, death certificate by Dr. Emily Stowe from June 19, 1887. This is a physician's death certificate for the wife  of James Aikenhead (they married in 1858) the founder of the well known Hardware store chain who died in 1903. There is also few mourning letters relating to Mrs. Aikenhead as an added bonus. Two folds with a couple of nick at two of the folds and small 1/2 inch tears starting at first fold, otherwise in very good+ condition and with a quality signature.
