Time Sensitive Information for Employers in New York State

New York State has recently passed a law that is now effective barring discrimination in employment based on certain reproductive health decision making and providing additional associated rights, as well as a prohibition against retaliation.

This law is unusual because it REQUIRES ALL EMPLOYERS WHO HAVE AN EMPLOYMENT HANDBOOK TO INCLUDE A POLICY IN THE HANDBOOK.  It also provides for substantial damages for violation of the law's prohibition on discrimination.

A copy of the policy to include in your Employment Handbook can be downloaded by clicking here .
