Dear Friend of Point Reyes National Seashore,
As the longest federal government shutdown in history came to a close on January 25th, the Point Reyes National Seashore Association (PRNSA) staff joined our National Park Service partners in a sigh of relief...at least for now.
Park staff are back on the job caring for our beloved park. The big job of catching up on neglected trails and visitor facilities, continuing critical scientific research, and helping visitors get the most out of their visits is finally starting.
The Shutdown Gap
For PRNSA, the government shutdown has deeply affected our ability to provide educational and conservation programs in the coming months. With visitor centers closed and federal grants halted, we lost critical revenue from our retail operations and other income sources over the last five weeks.
We hope to raise
$50,000 by February 14th
to bridge our budget gap. Thanks to a gift from a generous donor, your gift will be matched, dollar for dollar, up to $50,000.
Please consider making a gift today.
For those who are interested in volunteering with the clean-up, the park is asking for patience as they assess the needs. In the meantime, please
let me know
if you would like to be notified as opportunities arise.
With appreciation,
