What is Illustrated Lent? Well, we are glad you asked! Illustrated Lent is an interactive experience that combines the spiritual journey of Lent with tactile faith practices. This year, Crown of Glory will be embarking on a coloring journey and it is going to be AMAZING!
Every week, on Wednesday, there will be a large 2 x 3 foot poster on a table near the cross in the Sun Hall, surrounded by coloring utensils. ALL AGES are invited and encouraged to spend 10-15 minutes before or after you eat your delicious soup and color a portion of the poster.
Together, as one community comprised of all ages and all walks of faith, we will create artistic expressions of Psalms, which will then be framed and used as decorations (they
will look like stained glass!!!) in the sanctuary.
Do you think you’re too old to color a poster? Too inexperienced? Do you think this is just for the kids?
If you’ve answered yes to any of these, this activity is STILL for you! The point isn’t perfection and it certainly doesn’t require any expertise. We are all on a journey of faith together and this is an EXCITING opportunity to express that journey together, with 3 year olds coloring next to 80 year olds, and everyone in-between!
