The last day to withdraw from a regular Spring course is Friday, April 12 at 5:00 PM.
Withdraw dates can be found on your MyCSI schedule.
Withdraws are requested by completing a paper Add/Drop/Withdraw form and submitting it to the Office of the Registrar in-person (Taylor Bldg. Matrix) or through email ([email protected]); a withdraw CANNOT be requested through MyCSI or by fax. If you are planning to withdraw from ALL courses, you must fill out a Complete Withdraw Form and meet with a Financial Aid Advisor before processing.

This is the last week that the Faculty Staff Connections Committee will be collecting used prescription eyeglasses, lenses and hearing aids in memory of CSI employee and Lions Club member, Jennifer Patterson.
Lions Club donation boxes are located in every building on campus through Friday, April 12. Please ask friends, family, neighbors and co-workers to donate too.
The donations that we collect will help improve the quality of life for children and adults living in low and middle-income communities around the world. Many will experience corrected vision and hearing for the first time, enabling them to lead productive working lives, support their families, attend school and advance their education.
UPDATE:
The CSI Gym has collected 77 pairs of glasses and two sets of hearing aids already.
The Meyerhoeffer Building has collected 24 pairs of glasses.

Ponder your purpose.
The "True North" Mini Challenge invites you to spend a few minutes each day for the next 30 days thinking about your purpose in life. The challenge is easy. Simply ponder your personal mission statement each day, thinking about how you can apply the principles to the situations you are facing in life. If you don't have a personal mission statement, start by doing the
Mission Possible Mini Challenge. You can determine when you will ponder your purpose and how long you will do it each day.
Finding and embracing your purpose can make a tremendous impact on what you are able to accomplish as you go through life. You will define success for your life, most likely in a way that is very different from how the world defines it. As you face the challenges and influences of the world around you, you will stay true to your true north. Don't worry that you might not live up to your expectations. Thinking about your purpose in life will help you get there eventually, as you continue to face your true north.

 April Challenge: Declutter Your Home/Workspace in Just 30 Days |

It is easy to put off cleaning your home. We are all busy with work, school and family responsibilities. Each month, you put off cleaning and de-cluttering your home for another day. Before long, you have a house that is full of old, broken or dirty items.
Interestingly, clutter does not just impact the cleanliness of your home. There is a mental cost as well. According to psychological research, messy homes and offices leave people feeling helpless, anxious and overwhelmed. Clutter can actually worsen the symptoms of depression and anxiety. Chronically messy or cluttered rooms were linked to higher levels of the stress hormone known as cortisol.

An exciting musical collaboration between the CSI Jazz Ensemble and the Jerome High School Jazz Band is coming together this month at 7:30 p.m. on April 11. Each group will perform some of the great jazz standards, including pieces made famous by the Count Basie and Woody Herman bands. Highlights include a vocal feature for faculty member Serena Jenkins Clark and a combined number with both bands freshly arranged by Jerome's director, Hiroshi Fukuoka. Come out for what promises to be a great concert!

She led an army to victory, crowned a king, took on the entire Catholic Church...and was dead by 19. Joan of Arc is the MOST documented figure of the 15th century, and yet myths about her pervade the history books, to this day. In The Second Coming of Joan of Arc, by Carolyn Gage, the audience will discover the real Jeanne Romee, and through her story, the brutal institutional misogyny that women continue to face. Drawn from the detailed records of her two trials-john including hundreds of testimonies by all involved in her short life-The Second Coming finally tells the truth about the simple- minded, virginal peasant girl, who was anything but.
Jennifer Miller performs this one-woman show that explores not only the experience of "Joan of Arc," but relates that experience to contemporary women. Join her and discover the defiant, irreverent, clever, and unrepentant Jeanne, who remained unfailingly true to her own visions.
The CSI Stage Door Series, intimate arts experiences where both performers and audience members are on the stage itself, are designed to be thought-provoking and a little out of the ordinary in different ways - whether it's because of the intimate setting, the material performed, the way they are presented, or the collaborations involved.

For this Earth Day Pops Concert, the Symphony joins forces with Nicholas Bardonnay and Westwater Arts to perform three memorable works of photo-choreography, including Scott Watson's "Magic Valley" - with images submitted by local photographers - and recognizable portraits of nature from the symphonic repertoire, by Hovhaness and Vaughn Williams. This is THE pops concert of the decade not to be missed!

The College of Southern Idaho is now accepting registrations for this summer's Music Fest, which runs June 10 - 14, 2019, at the CSI Fine Arts Center. This week-long summer camp on the beautiful campus provides opportunities for students of all levels to be immersed in music making.
The daily schedule includes seven hours of hands-on instruction laid out to thoroughly engage students from beginning to end. Exceptional faculty from across the state work closely with you in small and large ensemble settings, as well as in daily master classes and sectionals. The listening lab brings the theory and history of music to life. Each afternoon, students have the chance to shine alongside their faculty mentors at the camp's performance spotlight. A focused study is available in strings, woodwinds, brass, percussion, piano, jazz, and voice and private lessons and a wide range of elective areas are available to round out the camp experience.
The week's learning culminates with student recitals and a Gala concert for friends, family, and community to enjoy. CSI Music Fest promises to be an unforgettable experience where students build life-long friendships through the power of music making.
Tuition for Music Fest is $230 if paid in full by May 1
, and $250 after. Students must be paid in full by May 24. This fee covers all program costs for students, including instructional materials. Other optional items such as photos and private lessons are available for an additional cost. A limited number of needs-based scholarships are available.

On April 2, 2019, the American Association for Women in Community Colleges CSI Chapter helped create awareness around the gender pay gap in our nation. A display was put up in the SUB and doughnuts were given out. The catch, men only got 80% of a doughnut while women received a whole one. The symbolism was to help people understand that women only get paid 80% of what men get paid for the same job. Although the gap has decreased over the years, this is still an issue nationwide.

Board to Appoint New President of the University of Idaho
The Idaho State Board of Education will hold a special Board meeting on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 10 a.m. Pacific Time to consider a contract and hire the next president of the University of Idaho.
The meeting will be held via teleconference. The location will be the Albertson Building Board Room on the University's Moscow campus.
Those wishing to listen to the meeting may do so by calling (877) 820-7829, participant code: 9096313.
After the meeting, Board Member Don Soltman will introduce the new president to students, faculty, staff, alumni and media in the Administration Building Auditorium. The University of Idaho will issue a press release next week with details.
Over 50 people applied to become the 19th president of the University of Idaho. The search for the next president began last October.
