This certainly has been a strange Lenten season. Leave it to God to throw us all off our game...and make us question what we do, how we do it, why we do it, what are our priorities...A person can't help but start to wonder about God's plan for us.

Right now, I know we're all grappling with this remote learning. Thank you for all of your efforts. As I said last week in my article, as parents and educators we know learning must continue. But after this week's experience, we know it certainly doesn't look like a traditional classroom anymore! As parents, you are overwhelmed with the challenge of overseeing your children's education while continuing to work outside the home or working from the home. You may be juggling the responsibility for educating one child or multiple children of various ages. You're probably drowning in e-mails delivered from teachers, frustrated by technology challenges and I'm sure everyone is struggling with creating some kind of schedule ....These are the types of things that happen when our world gets turned upside down.

This is what I want you to know right now as you continue to meet the challenges of continuing the learning process for your child(ren):
  1. Every family has its own unique situation. Be at peace with that. Do what you can do. Some days more work gets done than others...so be it.
  2. Our third quarter grades were scheduled to close on March 27th. That's not going to happen. It looks now like we'll be extending that marking period right to the end of the school year.
  3. Please consider the work teachers are sending for your children as a guide for learning. If they can get the work done as delivered, great! But if you don't have the technology, you don't have the materials, be creative in looking at other options and design your own type of learning. Have your child surprise their teacher with their creativity!
  4. Teachers want to be helpful. Share your challenges, it will guide them as they create and assign work.
For our own sake and for the sake of our children, let's keep a positive attitude. Let's support one another. And let's continue to pray for one another. With God's help we will weather the storm and be a stronger, more faith filled community for it.

God bless you and your families.

Ms. Ann E. Dougal
Principal

P.S.   Our newsletter is looking a little sad. We'd love to include some pictures of our students and families learning and spending time together. Please e-mail your favorite picture to [email protected]. It will help us stay connected during this challenging time.

 Registration

Many  people have inquired as to whether our deadline for returning next year's registration paperwork will be extended. Please know that we will extend the deadline without additional fees. You always have the option of mailing it directly to the school. The post office will be holding our mail and it will be picked up once a week. We also want people to know that we will continue to accept new applications. These can be accessed remotely and will be processed as quickly as possible.

Food For Thought

"In tribulation immediately draw near to God with confidence, and you will receive strength, enlightenment, and instruction."

Prayer Corner

St. Michael the Arch angel, pray for us!

We pray for our brothers and sisters across our nation and across the world. May God give everyone strength during this especially stressful time.

And we pray for all of our recently departed and for those lives that have been taken by the Covid-19 virus across the world.

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon them. May the souls of all the faithful departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace. Amen.
