Monday - April 15 - Journey with Jesus - 5:00PM
On Monday evening of Holy Week, we get together at the church to walk with Jesus on his last week. This is especially for children but lots of others will come too! We will travel around different areas in the church that are set up like places Jesus went during his last week. We visit the temple, we have a meal together, we celebrate Communion, and we go to the Garden of Gethsemane, just like Jesus did with his disciples so long ago!

Thursday - April 18 - Maundy Thursday - 7:00PM
If you have not been with us for one of these services before, please think about coming this year! We are trying some new and different things to celebrate this beloved night in Holy Week, which for many, is one of their favorite services of the whole year.

We will start with an Agape meal. "Agape" (Ah-GAH-pay) means "loving-kindness" in Greek. Modeled after "The Last Supper," it is a simple meal with special prayers. Then we will process down to the sanctuary for choral Eucharist. The space will look different, with lots and lots of candles (like Taizé services, if you have been to one of those) and a new and different seating arrangement. For anyone who wishes to participate, foot washing is part of this service, in remembrance of Jesus doing this for his disciples on that night.

Are you wondering what "Maundy" means? It comes from the Latin word for "commandment," and refers to the commandment Jesus gave his disciples that night, to love each other as he has loved them.

Please join us! YOUR presence will complete the evening.

They're Counting On Us...All Hands On Deck!
Rummage is a wonderful place to make new friends and connect to a large, multi- generational group of people. Volunteers experience the deep satisfaction of giving their time to a greater cause - ensuring goodwill for all. We are steadily expanding our outreach initiatives, and in the last five years, more than $1,000,000 in Benevolence Grants were awarded to Chicagoland Charities dedicated to helping those in need.

But, we couldn't do it without support from folks like you!  Please join Rummage Director Annie Adams and the Rummage Steering Committee on April 25 to learn about opportunities to serve throughout Season 95 of Rummage. We are hosting a Coffee at 9:00AM and a Cocktail Hour at 7:00PM at the home of Elizabeth Parkinson, 321 Linden Street in Winnetka.  Kids are welcome. Please RSVP to [email protected] if you plan to join. We look forward to seeing you!   Unable to make one of the meetings, please share your interest in helping by clicking here:

The Winnetka Spring Cleanup, which takes place the week of Earth Day (April 22-25), may be counterproductive to the growing global sustainability movement. In lieu of kicking it all to the curb, Christ Church Winnetka is encouraging residents to Donate With Purpose to Rummage this year in honor of the world's largest environmental movement.

Rummage Donations can be dropped off at the back entrance of the Schroeder Building, located at 700 Oak Street. To help residents Donate With Purpose, Rummage is extending drop off hours the weekend of April 20. Doors are open Saturday and Sunday from 8AM to 4PM. We also offer complimentary furniture pickups. For more information regarding items we do and do not accept for donation, please visit www.christchurchwinnetka.org/serve/rummagebenevolence/donate/.
