As we hit the home stretch towards EOC's, AP Exams, Final Exams, Graduation and the end of the school year, we want to remind ALL students to finish this year on strong note! MICROSOFT SURFACE UPDATE
In an effort to prepare for the spring testing season, we are asking that students update their school issued Surface tablets with needed software/security applications. Below are some simple instructions on how to accomplish this:
- Please restart the tablet while on a Wi-Fi network (Click the Windows icon, Click the "Power/Battery" icon, and tap "Restart")
- After restarting and logging back in with the students' Fulton County credentials, please click to start any needed updates.
(Click the Windows icon, click the "Settings" option, click "Updates and Security" and click "Check for Updates" and/or "Start Downloads" of any needed/available updates)
DRC Insight is the testing app that is used to administer the End Of Course Assessments in a secure online environment. We will be administering EOC tests to students this spring via the Microsoft Surface, so it is vital that students have this app installed using the directions above.
If you need any assistance with this process, please see Mr. James (in 1240) or the Tech Eagle helpers at the Media Hub help desk.
STUDENTS - PLEASE CHECK YOUR FULTON SCHOOLS EMAIL ACCOUNT FOR REMINDERS.
(Students must access their FCS email account through Microsoft Outlook on their issued tablet.)

FINAL EXAM SCHEDULE - SENIORS
- Must have a 90 or above (not including honors points)
- No ISS or OSS for 2nd semester
- Can't exempt an EOC Test
Attendance will be taken, and disciplinary actions will continue through the end of the school year. If students acquire unexcused absences, they may be referred to administration who will administer consequences. Consequences may include ISS, which will result in the loss of a student's exemption privilege. Any student absences need to be supported with documentation (either complete the Parent Permission Google Form below, or students need to bring in a parent/doctor note.)
AP TESTS & FINAL EXAMS
AP testing starts May 6, and we understand students MAY NOT be in class because they will be taking an AP exam. AP exam attendance will be taken daily and entered by the attendance clerk.
If there is a conflict between an AP exam and a final exam,
STUDENTS MUST REPORT TO THEIR SCHEDULED AP EXAM, and reschedule their final exam with their teacher.
Make-up exams for seniors will be available 5/14, 5/15, 5/16, 5/17. We will have people available in the Media Hub for students to take make-up final exams.
Seniors will be notified, by their teacher, on
Friday, May 3
if they are able to exempt their final.
Senior exams will be taken during their normal class period - 55 minutes.

SENIOR EXIT ACTIVITIES
As we begin to approach the end of the year, there are a few items that
all seniors must complete before they graduate
. The Counseling Department will be coming to the Senior Literature classes on April 9 (College English classes will be during the week of April 9) to help students complete these requirements.
It is critical that each senior take his/her time and follow the directions accurately and completely
.
Students will need the following information to complete the activities:
- A computer or device with internet access. We recommend that seniors bring their Surface to class and ensure that it is fully charged.
- Any scholarship information that he/she has been offered to date. This includes scholarships that he/she will be accepting as well as those that he/she was offered, but will not be accepting.
The students will be completing the following activities:
- The Fulton County Senior Exit Survey, the GCIS After High School Transition Plan, and his/her Final Transcript Request Submission and Form (all online).
- The Final Transcript Request Form (paper submission). Please note that all of these activities must be completed by May 3rd. Failure to complete the Senior Exit Activities will result in a hold being placed on the student's diploma.

SOCK DRIVE FOR THE HOMELESS
We are conducting a sock drive for homeless people who suffer from foot conditions that can lead to injury, infections, and even amputation. These conditions are caused by their prolonged exposure to moisture that can be prevented if they had access to a dry pair of socks. We need your help donating new or gently worn socks for redistribution to North Fulton Community Charities. We are collecting the socks in the MHS atrium from April 15-19 from 7:45 to 8:15 AM. For the students who participate in the sock drive, names will be entered into a raffle for six flags passes and a MHS 2019-2020 parking space. FBLA and beta points will also be given to students who donate 5 pairs of socks to SOCKS FOR THE BLOCK.

SUMMER SCHOOL INFORMATION
Registration is open for Fulton County Summer School. Please review the documents linked below for the information about important dates, cost, how to register, and more!
Georgia Virtual will also have Summer School Options. Registration for this program will open on April 15, 2019. Visit www.gavirtualschool.org for more information about this program.
If you think your child may need to take a class to get on track for graduation or would like to accelerate, please make sure to get registered as soon as possible.
Once a student registers for summer school, it will come to a Counselor for approval. We advise students to only attempt 0.5 or 1.0 credit of summer courses.
* 1 semester long course (0.5 credit) requires about 3 hours of work a day
* 1 year long course (1.0 credit) requires about 6 hours of work a day
* Expect 6 to 9 hours of work a day if your student enrolls in an accelerated math course
