Spring 2020 Newsletter
This newsletter is purposefully a bit of a "rabbit hole". It contains some "non-wine related" articles you may find interesting, outlines our plans for 2020, and updates our Curbside bottled wine sales process.
Rebuilding a Civil War Era Grain Wagon
It's good to have Winter projects to keep you busy. This past Winter, Clyde decided to rebuild a Civil War Grain Wagon, using parts that have been on our property since.the late 1800's.
Hong Kong Flu & the Bean Sprout
Both Clyde and I have childhood experience with influenza pandemics. Clyde had the "Asiatic Flu" in 1957 and I had the "Hong Kong" Flu in 1968.
Wines We will Release in 2020
Our First Petit Manseng will be Released in June 2020
This wine is luscious. We've been sampling it since fermentation ended. It's been racked multiple times and is ready for our bottling planned for May. Pineapple and Mango are the predominant aromas and flavors. Occasionally, we drink it from the tank.

We sent a sample to the oenology laboratory at Virginia Tech for analysis. The residual sugar is 2.6% and alcohol content is 13.5%. June release for sampling in our tasting room, and sales.
A New Batch of
"Grandma's Love Potion"
is being Pressed
We don't know this child, but do respect their eye for blueberries!. Those gigantic Patriot blueberries look just like some we purchased for our next vintage of Grandma's Love Potion and Grandpa's Fantasy.

Actually, we purchased a mixture of different types of ripe, frozen berries, all grown in Hammonton, NJ, known as the "Blueberry Capital of the World". The wine is being pressed as I write, and will be available in late 2020 or early 2021.

Other wines we will bottle in 2020...
Chambourcin (2015)
Cabernet Franc (2015)
Cabernet Sauvignon (2017)
Tannat (2017)
Traminette (2019)
Petit Verdot (2016)
Royal (aged in Cognac Barrels)
We've published a tentative schedule and ticket sales links for our Local History Tours planned for the Spring and Early Summer.

We will assess the current COVID-19 situation in mid-April and make an announcement about our plan to move forward with ticket sales.
