Walk With Us: The Power of Community
Each year, this fun event begins early with our always-successful online fundraising campaign. This past Saturday, about 70 people braved the rain to gather in beautiful Payne Park to help raise awareness about Violence Against Women. A number of community groups joined us to support mutual work that benefits women and girls: SPAARC, Planned Parenthood, Zonta, League of Women Voters, Dining for Women, and Moms Demand Action.
Proceeds support UN Women programs to eradicate violence against women and girls.
Thank you to Simone Steiff, owner of Cafe in the Park, for her support of our walk each year. Simone opens her lovely cafe, providing a welcome space for our event and offering our walkers delicious homemade food and beverages.
