Essential Trainings As Needed
GLSTC is  complying with Governor Whitmer's statewide "Stay at Home" order and closed our facility for most services. GLSTC will however, assist with safety requirements for critical infrastructure workers as defined by the Department of Homeland Securities memo referenced in the Governor's order.  These safety requirements include certain site required trainings and background screens.

Here is what we are doing  for our students, clients and staff to prevent the spread of COVID-19:
  • Reduced the number of students per classroom to no more than 10; one student per table to support social distancing.
  • Increased our cleaning and sanitation schedule.
  • Cancelled classes that are not essential to support critical infrastructure partners.
  • Installed a "sneeze guard" type barrier at the front desk.
  • Asked for all background paperwork to be emailed or faxed.
  • Asked our staff and guests to stay home if sick.
  • Purchased commercial grade air purifiers for each classroom and front lobby.
  • Purchased an air scrubber that runs nightly in the lower level.
  • Daily Manager meetings to focus on needs and schedule adjustment.
If you are uncertain about an essential training you may be scheduled for or would like to cancel an upcoming training please call our office at (989) 837-2332.

All other current scheduled training classes and meetings have been temporarily cancelled and our building closed.  Trainings and meetings will be re-scheduled as soon as the order is lifted.

Although our building will be closed, certain staff will be working remotely from home and are available to support our members from 8 am to 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday. Our staff will be able to respond to member inquiries and questions via email or by phone.  You may call (989) 837-2332 or email  glstc@glstc.org  or any of our staff directly.  If there is no answer, please leave a message and your call will be returned ASAP.

We will continue to provide you with COVID-19 email updates as soon as information is available, along with other helpful safety information.

The safety and welfare of our staff and members is a top priority during this COVID-19 Crisis. We encourage everyone to follow the safe practices recommended by the CDC, Governor's Office, and State and County Health Departments to keep yourselves, your families and others safe during this challenging time.

We will get through this challenge by doing what we need to do to be safe and stay safe.
