Residents Celebrate 4th of July Picnic and Parade, Raise Funds for Surfside
Thank you to all residents, neighbors and friends who attended our 53rd Annual Cutler Bay/Whispering Pines 4th of July Celebration!
There were over 400 golf carts and 2,000+ participants at the parade and picnic, which has been an annual tradition of our community since the 1960s. We had free food, music, entertainment, and a perfectly timed flyover by Homestead Air Reserve Base's 482nd Fighter Wing that flew over just as Samantha Zaitman wrapped the national anthem. Mayor Tim Meerbott took the stage, along with the Town Council, County Commissioner Danielle Cohen Higgins, and School Board Member Luisa Santos to address residents.
Through the event, nearly $4,000 were raised raise to support the Surfside community. Thank you to everyone who donated to this important cause. A special shoutout goes to the event sponsor, Cutler Bay Solar Solutions (and for their generous donation) and to Cutler Bay Carts.
