MARCH 20, 2020
Hello Eastmoor Members,

The COVID-19 virus has drastically changed our day-to-day lives in the past week and will change our “norm” for several months more.

Based on what we’re learning daily about this rapidly-spreading virus, we’ve made the difficult decision to close the Eastmoor—including the tennis courts—effectively immediately until further notice.

As of now, we still plan to enjoy Eastmoor from Memorial Day to Labor Day; it’s a much-needed sanctuary and place of community for us all. We’ve not heard of any mandates that would prohibit us from opening on time.

That said, we have a few updates we would like to share with you:

MEMBERSHIP DUES
Thank you to the members who have already paid this year’s dues.

We know that in these uncertain times, you may need a grace period for paying 2020 dues and thus, we’ve extended the dues deadline  until May 1.

If it’s not a hardship to pay by  Ap ril 1 , please do so. In order to plan and staff accordingly, we build our annual budget around member dues. The more dues collected by  April 1 , the better we can plan. If you need a bit more time, we understand.

That said, we need to be clear : We will be collecting dues this year, regardless of how the COVID-19 situation pans out. Though our entire facility is open from end of May through the beginning of September, we have year-round staff, maintenance, and upkeep expenses.

SWIM + DIVE TEAM
Although the Metro Swimming League has yet to post any changes to the summer schedule, we are postponing registation for the Swim + Dive Team until at least May 1.

TENNIS
As mentioned previously, the tennis courts are closed until further notice.

In addition, the USTA has postponed the start of Adult/18+ Spring Tennis Leagues to  April 20  and JTT (junior team tennis) registration is currently on hold.

We are monitoring the situation closely, and we will be reaching out to you regulaly to keep you in the loop. If you have additional questions, please hit "reply" to this email; reach out to President Tyler Lindvall; or, if you have questions about dues, email Treasurer Rich Bruns .

We know you hope to be celebrating a Memorial Day opening—and we want exactly the same thing.
Stay healthy, friends.
