Adopt-A-Book runs from:
Wednesday, October 24 through Friday, December 21
We welcome you to help the library build its book collection.
An assortment including fiction, non-fiction, young adult, children's,
and spanish language books will be on display for patrons to "adopt" (purchase)
for the library.
A commemorative book plate will be placed in the book and the
adopting
patron
gets to be the first to check the book out of the library!

Every Monday through Thursday

English for Speakers of Other Languages Program:
English classes for those whose native language is not English have been
offered at New London Adult Education since 1910, helping thousands of
adults enter the mainstream of American life.
Classes will be held at the Library Monday through Thursday.
La escuela para adultos de New London ofrece a la comunidad clases de inglés de manera GRATUITA. Las clases se llevarán a cabo en la Biblioteca Pública de New London durante todo el año, de lunes a jueves a las 9:30am. No es necesario registrarse.

Lidia's Italian-American Kitchen

Each participant will choose a recipe from the book and bring in the dish
along with a copy of the recipe to share with the rest of the group.

Empower Together presents an opportunity for participants to pursue their
natural desire to learn, listen to stories, and share opinions and feelings.
Each week, we will explore a new hands-on activity. All adults are welcome to
attend Empower Sessions, although they are designed specifically with adults
with disabilities in mind.

Gentle Yoga

Free 40 Minute yoga for all ages!
Recommendations:
*Attire can be athletic or loose comfortable clothing.
*Yoga mat or thick padding for kneeling if needed.
Healthy snack provided after session.
Although children are encouraged to participate, there will be an
optional activity table available while session occurs.
Note: There will be an optional 10-minute meditation after practice
for anyone interested.
Registration is encouraged.

This month's Book:
Wait Till Next Year: a memoir
by Doris Kearns Goodwin
Copies of the book are available at the Circulation Desk one month before
the meeting date and are due back the evening of the book discussion.
Food is ordered from a local restaurant, often reflecting a theme in the book,
and is delivered to the library. Club members pay for their meal at the book club.
Participants may also bring their own supper or snack. Water, coffee and tea are provided by the library. The facilitator for the evening provides dessert.
This group cannot accomodate drop-ins.
