REPORTING WEBINAR SCHEDULED FOR TODAY!
FRA is hosting a 2020 CRA Local Annual Reports webinar today at 2!

Every CRA must make sure that a local annual report is produced and submitted by March 31. It does not have to be elaborate, but all the items on the list of requirements should be included.  Although the local annual report has been the law for many years for CRAs in Florida, the contents of the report have changed.

During the webinar, we will go through a checklist of the exact requirements, after CS/HB 9, 2019, so you can make sure you are up-to-date on the current standards.

To register for today's webinar, click here.

For more information on reporting or for sample reports, visit  our annual reporting requirements page.
CRA LEGISLATIVE REPORT
Congratulations to all! This year no harmful legislation affecting CRAs passed during the 2020 Florida Legislative Session.

The session ended for the purpose of taking up bills on Friday, March 13. Legislators convene again today for the purpose of passing the state budget and related matters.

One particular piece of legislation seeking to limit all CRAs in Florida was filed early in the session, in the house and the senate. This failed due in large part to the efforts of our members.

HB 535 and SB 1072 provided that hospital districts no longer have to pay TIF to any CRA that after July 1, 2016, extended its termination date. We believe similar legislation will be filed next year.

As always, thanks to our members who continue to engage with their legislators in a positive and locally informative way. For further information, contact Carol Westmoreland.
