COVID-19 Hillsborough Reported Case Update
1 new person in Hillsborough Township has tested positive for COVID-19 today, bringing the total number of people who have tested positive in the Township to 11.  

The Hillsborough Health Department has confirmed a positive COVID-19 test in a child who attends Amsterdam Elementary School. The student attended school last on March 13th. Upon conducting the investigation, the student had no known high risk exposure to COVID-19. Therefore, we expect that there is community spread at this time. Please continue to practice social distancing

The Hillsborough Township Health Department continues to monitor all cases and is working with the State to identify any potential contacts for follow-up. A representative from the Hillsborough Township Health Department will reach out to all individuals determined to have been in close contact with the positive testing persons within 24-48 hours of each case being confirmed.

For those who would like to volunteer their time to the Township, please complete a Volunteer Registration Form which can be found on the COVID-19 page on our website.


Hillsborough Rewards Credit Card Grant Applications originally due on April 10, 2020 will be due at a future date to be determined.

Hillsborough residents who have currently been affected by a recent job loss or reduction of income and are in need of food assistance should contact the Community Assistance Network in the Social Services Department at 908-369-3880.

NJ Office of Homeland Security and Preparedness Update:
Donations of Personal Protective Equipment Sought - Collection Site in Hillsborough
Supplies of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) are low due to the current public health crisis. As a result, Somerset County's Office of Emergency Management is asking 'nonessential' businesses to donate their PPE supplies for the benefit of RWJ University Hospital-Somerset and local first responders.

The types of PPE being requested include:
  • Nitrile gloves (any size)
  • Coveralls / tyvek suits / medical gowns (any sizes)
  • Face shields / Goggles
  • N95 masks
  • P100 masks / Air Purifying Respirators

Only unexpired items will be accepted.

A drop off location will be set up at the Somerset County Public Works Garage, located at 410 Roycefield Rd., Hillsborough 08844. Drop offs will be accepted between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m., starting Monday, March 23. Donations will be accepted through Friday, March 28.

All employees and volunteers working at the drop-off location will be practicing social distancing and maintaining a space of six feet or more. Donors are asked to observe the same precautions.
