Will Marsh  was the Chief Legal Officer at Baker Hughes since the merger of Baker Hughes with the GE Oil & Gas business in 2017 through April 2020.  Prior to his that, Marsh served as Vice President and General Counsel of Baker Hughes Incorporated starting in February 2013.

Marsh joined Baker Hughes in 1998 and has served in various executive, legal, compliance and corporate roles, including Vice President of Legal, Western Hemisphere from May 2009 to February 2013 and Director of Enterprise Risk Strategies from March 2006 to May 2009.

Marsh is currently a member of the BJ Services Board of Directors and was formerly a member of the Board of Directors of Peoples Utah Bancorp.

Honorable John J. Sullivan was nominated as the U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation by President Donald J. Trump on October 11, 2019; confirmed by the Senate on December 12, 2019; and sworn in by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on December 23, 2019. Ambassador Sullivan previously served as Deputy Secretary of State from May 24, 2017, until December 21, 2019. He served as acting Secretary of State from April 1 to April 26, 2018. 

Prior to joining the Department of State, Ambassador Sullivan was a partner in Mayer Brown LLP, and co-chair of the law firm’s national security practice. From 2010 to 2016, he was the Chairman of the U.S.-Iraq Business Dialogue, a governmental advisory committee on United States economic relations with Iraq.

ABOUT THE URALS REGION:
Ural Federal District is one of the eight federal districts of Russia. Its population was more than 12 million according to the 2010 Census. In 2006, the Ural district provided 90% of Russian natural gas production, 68% of oil, and 42% of metal products. Industrial production per capita in the district is about 2.5 times higher than the average value throughout Russia. 

Its major branches are fuel mining and production (53%), metallurgy (24%) and metal processing, and engineering (8.8%). The latter two are specially developed in Chelyabinsk and Sverdlovsk Oblast which, between them, constitute 83% of Russian metallurgy and 73% of metal processing and engineering. 
According to the rating of the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation the "Koltsovo" international airport is the largest one among the regional airports of Russia. The region ranks third in terms of the number of diplomatic missions. Ekaterinburg (the administrative center of the district) hosts significant international events and top-level meetings on an ongoing basis. Currently, Ekaterinburg is competing to host World Expo 2025.

Lukoil Begins Construction of a Center for Core and Reservoir Fluids Research in Perm

Gazprom Reduces Greenhouse Gas Emissions in 2019

Gazprom.com, June 10, 2020:  Last year, Gazprom achieved all of its Corporate Environmental Targets. The Company saved 3.3 billion cubic meters of gas, 330.3 million kWh of electricity, and 252,700 Gcal of heat. At the same time, gas production rose by 0.5 per cent to 500.1 billion cubic meters. Compared to 2018, the Gazprom Group cut its air emissions by 31,300 tons, its water consumption by 358.8 million cubic meters, and its waste generation by 218,000 tons. Read more...

Coronavirus Pushes Bank Profits to Record Low

Themoscowtimes.com, June 11, 2020:   Profits in the Russian banking sector slid to a record low in May, Central Bank chief Elvira Nabiullina said Wednesday. Banks made just 500 million rubles ($7 million) last month, Nabiullina told a State Duma committee, with net profit for the year so far coming in at 561 billion rubles ($8 billion). Read more...
Rosneft Says No Change to Dividend Policy Despite Lower State Stake

Reuters.com, June 7, 2020:   Russia’s largest oil producer Rosneft (ROSN.MM) said on Sunday it planned to maintain a dividend policy of paying out half of its net profit despite the state lowering its stake in the company to below 50%. Rosneft plans to continue developing offshore fields in Russia but does not plan to start any new offshore projects until after oil prices recover, it said in a statement to Reuters. Russia to Buy $1.5bn Worth of Pipes to Develop Arctic Projects

Russiabusinesstoday.com, June 8, 2020:   Russia’s energy major Gazprom has announced a record tender to purchase almost 100 billion rubles worth of pipes ($1.5 billion) for its natural gas projects, including the Power of Siberia mega pipeline, Russia Today reported.

Azerbaijan Approves Tax Benefits to Businesses amid COVID-19

Azernews.az, June 3, 2020:   President Ilham Aliyev has approved the amendments to the Tax Code, providing for tax benefits for businesses amid coronavirus pandemic, the president’s press service reported on June 2. According to the amendments to the Tax Code, starting from January 1, 2020, property and land taxes for hotels and other tourism facilities, activities of tour operators and travel agencies, catering, road passenger transportation within the country, including taxi activities, are fully exempt from payment for a year.
