Welcome to the "new" Tidings
We are all social distancing, and unfortunately an email based solely around times and dates to get together in person just wasn't going to work right now. Instead, we have re-branded the Tidings to still bring you announcements, plus updates on ministries, resources, and stories from our parish each week. The columns you see below will be standing columns, if there is not an update for one or more they will be held back that week and replaced when the updates are available.

Our goal is to keep you connected to Trinity and each other during this time. We would love to hear your stories, see your pictures, and hear what you are up to while we are all staying home. Share your pictures with us at trinitysc.org/pictures or send us a story at trinitysc.org/announcements . This is your space for sharing content with the Parish!
Worship Announcements
Our online worship will continue this week. We appreciate your patience as we work through all the issues that can arise with streaming. We are steadily making improvements with each service we offer virtually. Please rest assured that we are working diligently on it.

Our online worship lineup for this week through livestream :
  • Evening Prayer: each week on Monday - Wednesday, and Friday, at 8 pm (only on Facebook for the livestream, stored to our site after)
  • Compline: Thursday, March 26 at 8 pm
  • Holy Eucharist Rite I: Sunday, March 29 at 10 am
  • Evensong: Sunday, March 29 at 4 pm
  • How to view livestreams: these services will be streamed through our site at trinitysc.org/live and on our Facebook page (facebook.com/TrinityCathedralSC). After the live viewing, they will be stored here, and you can view them anytime from that page.

Our online worship lineup during the week that is not live:
  • Morning Prayer: 7 am each weekday (Monday - Friday) on our Facebook page. Once shown on Facebook, they are stored on our site here.
Schedule Announcements
Rather than separate each announcement into its own block, moving forward all schedule-specific announcements can be foun d here.
  • Church Women United: Due to the severity of our current situation and for the health and welfare of all concerned, it is necessary to cancel the Salads, Sweets, and Sisterhood luncheon scheduled for Saturday, March 28. If you have sent a check to the CWU treasurer, Pat Gilyard, it will be returned to you as it was sent. The event on Friday, May 1, which is May Friendship Day, will be cancelled as well.
  • Harvest Hope: Because the Cathedral is closed we are not able to continue to collect food for Harvest Hope at this time. If you would like to help those in need, please follow this link to donate in several ways: click here. Your donations are always appreciated and needed more than ever.
Children's Ministry
The Children's Ministry at Trinity is adapting wonderfully to connecting with each other online. Here are the opportunities for children this week:

  • Friday, March 27: For our 4th and 5th graders, lunch bunch will be held live Zoom here at noon. The lesson can be found here. If you can print the lesson beforehand that will be great! Be sure to have your Bible open to John 11:1-45.

Resources:
We know this can be a stressful time. The website virusanxiety.com has been shared in many other Youth circles, and is a great resource for managing anxiety that our youth may be experiencing right now.
Pastoral Care
During this time, if you have a concern that you would like to share with the clergy, please submit it here. This is a confidential form that only the clergy can access. You may also submit Prayer Requests at that link as well.

There will be more ways for you to get involved and help your neighbors. We will be sharing places you can volunteer your time and talents, as well as where you should go if you are in need of help. We are here for you during this time, and if you need assistance at any point, please contact a member of Trinity's Clergy Staff ( click here for directory listings).
Stewardship
Throughout the duration of the COVID-19 pandemic, Trinity will continue to be a community that supports people in their efforts to cultivate relationships with God and one another. One very important way you participate in the mission and ministries of the Cathedral during this challenging time is to continue supporting Trinity financially. We have a new option, Text to Give , that makes it easier than ever to make an offering to Trinity.

It's easy! Send a text to 73256, and in the body of the message simply type our keyword which is trinitysc (doesn't have to be capitalized, but won't hurt if it is) along with your dollar amount (you don't need to use the dollar sign, but also won't hurt if you do). For example, if you wanted to send $25 then in a new text to 73526 you would send: trinitysc 25. More instructions along with pictures of the process can be found here .

Your faithfulness and generosity are always greatly appreciated, but that is especially the case during this time of exceptional need. If at any time you need assistance with Text to Give or you have other questions, please contact Ryan Headley ( rheadley@trinitysc.org or 803.461.7302). Thank you for your support for Trinity, now and always.
Search Committee Updates
The search committee met by Zoom conference on March 18. Items discussed and action taken included job posting details for the Diocese, review of the meeting with the Bishop, and a review of the nominations received by Trinity of potential candidates so far. Thank you to the congregation for your submissions, we appreciate and value your help.

There is much detail work being done as we search for Trinity’s next Dean and we look forward to providing continuing updates to you all. Thank you for your prayers, support, and patience.
Embracing New Technology: Education Opportunities
The move to online worship and meeting virtually - rather than in person - made it necessary for us to use new tools. Some people may not be familiar with these tools or resources, while others may need to refresh their skills.

If you need some technical assistance, please check this page for resources: trinitysc.org/howto. From Zoom Conferencing, to how to hook your iPad up to your TV for virtual worship, we have guides to help you navigate this time online. If you need help, please let us know! Contact Jessica Umbach at jumbach@trinitysc.org for further assistance, if needed.
Stories from our Parish
We have loved seeing the pictures of you and your loved ones worshiping from home. Keep them coming ( click here to submit a picture). If you have a story from this time, share it with us. It could be how you are finding creative ways to stay positive and combat boredom; an inspiring story of people helping people, or even a funny story of something that happened that made you laugh. Even though we cannot see each other in person right now, we still can connect virtually. Let's uplift each other and come together through shared experiences.

Palm Cross Workshop:
Since we are moving our virtual worship online for Palm Sunday and Holy Week, we are sharing how to make your palm crosses for yourself or your family. You can participate in the service from home and feel like a little piece of Trinity is at home with you on that day through the Palm Cross pinned to your shirt. If you don't have palms to use, that is OK. You can also use paper or other materials gathered from around your home. Big thanks to Susie Dibble for filming this lesson! Click the image in this text block to watch the video on how to make Palm Crosses. Or you can click here to watch the video, too.
Resources for Adults
We get it. You are probably being bombarded with links, life hacks, and all sorts of well-meaning but potentially overwhelming information coming at you from all directions right now. We are certainly not trying to add to that, but want this section of our email to be a place where you can find resources if you need them. If you have suggestions on what you'd like to see here, let us know!
