REP coaches offer support in all areas of delivering engaging quality literacy instruction. REP coaches can help with reviewing ORF/MAZE scores, organizing DLI groups, and providing large- and small-group literacy resources and ideas.

Sign Up High Schoolers for The Trust's Youth Advisory Committee
The Children’s Trust Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) application is open to high school students that are residents of Miami-Dade County. YAC is a youth development program focused on leadership, service and advocacy. The YAC provides experience with the legislative process, opportunities to speak with local officials, new friendships, and a chance to develop community service projects.

One More SPARK Trainings This Year
The Children's Trust is sponsoring one more SPARK (Sports, Play, and Active Recreation for Kids) training that will be provided virtually on Saturday, December 5.
The training is for contracted Youth Development K-5 providers using SPARK curriculum for fitness. Please limit registrations to two staff per agency per training.

UM Team COACH: Free Coaching for Parenting Program Providers
UM Team COACH is here to support parenting programs. The team offers support in different programmatic areas, including increasing recruitment, making new partnerships, and improving fidelity and data quality.
To request coaching, complete the survey here. Starting this contract year, coaching is documented on the Trust Academy transcripts of staff members who receive it, making it easier to show what your staff has accomplished.

Grant Writing Training *
The Center for Child Welfare @ USF, in collaboration with DCF, is offering Grant Writing Training for all levels. The next training module in the Grant Writing Series is Identifying Funding Opportunities and Forming Partnerships. This module will be offered live on three different days/times to give attendees an opportunity to ask questions.

Small Business Grants for COVID-19 Reimbursement Available
The Miami Chamber of Commerce and CareerSource South Florida are offering $10,000 grants for small business to reimburse COVID-19 related expenses as businesses pivoted to keep open and to keep workers employed. The organizations have set aside $500,000 for the small businesses grants. These grants are strictly for reimbursement and are fairly simple to secure for qualifying businesses that can substantiate their expenditures.
Small businesses (3-50 employees) can apply for the grant program but they must check off all the qualifying information needed on the check list to qualify. Missing information or incomplete applications are automatically rejected by the system.

FREE NAMI “Ending the Silence” Virtual Mental Health Program
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Miami-Dade’s “Ending the Silence”: Free Virtual Mental Health Education and Early Intervention Program for Youth and Young Adults welcomes families to learn the warning signs of mental health conditions, facts and statistics, coping skills, and local and national resources. The program takes place on Thursday, November 19 at 6 p.m.

FREE Virtual Mental Health Wellness Support Groups
NAMI Miami-Dade Support Groups offer weekly virtual Zoom meetings. Groups are available in English or Spanish, open to individuals living with a mental health condition or for the loved ones of those struggling with the disease as well as a group specifically for parents/caregivers of youth struggling . All NAMI programs and services are free to the community.

Available Mental Health Services for Low-Income Families
The Institute for Child and Family Health (ICFH) provides mental health services including Individual/family therapy and psychiatry for children and adolescents in Miami-Dade County. The institute accepts most Medicaid HMO’s and has funding for children of low-income families who do not have insurance. ICFH also provides individual/family therapy and psychiatry services for adults who have Medicaid.

Licensed Substance Abuse Counselor
The position works in collaboration with interdisciplinary team at a substance abuse treatment program for residential and outpatient consumers. Responsible for the provision of all clinical services to consumers in residential and outpatient services. Candidates must have a Master’s degree in a related field with clinical experience in substance abuse and mental health. Certified Addictions Prof (CAP); or FL Lic. : Social Work, Marriage & Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling. This is a full-time position offering a salary of $50,000 a year.
Behavioral Health Technician
This is a non-exempt position that is responsible for the onsite residential support for the daily management of a quality milieu for residents at a residential addiction recovery treatment facility. This position is to provide a portion of mandatory 24-HR awake coverage, customer service, and residential supervision. Educational & Experiential Requirements: One year of related experience, CPR & Safe Serve certificate preferred or obtained w/ 30 - 60 days of hire. Hourly rate is $11.45.
Site Aide
This is a non-exempt position that will be responsible for the handling of catered meals for food service that includes: receiving/storage; distribution; clean up and documentation for all meals received and served to clients. Educational & Experiential Requirements: High school diploma/GED or equivalent - Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. This is a part-time position from Monday - Friday: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Hourly rate is $11.45.

A minimum of one year of clinical experience working with young children and their families is also required. Knowledge of Head Start Performance standards is preferred, as is a bilingual or trilingual candidate (English, Spanish, and or Creole).
