Juneteenth Inaugural Freedom Ride
On Juneteenth, Delaware Greenways and Urban Bike Project of Wilmington, brought together a group of awesome people; friends, families, community partners, for a 15 mile bike ride on the Jack A. Markell Trail to honor Delaware's Freedom Seekers who courageously fought for freedom and justice.

Celebration Route Story Map
Delaware Greenways' Honoring Delaware's Freedom Seekers story map enables you to walk, roll, run or bike accompanied by the voices of eight Delawareans who have fought for freedom and justice.
The "Celebration Route" travels from Historic New Castle to Tubman-Garrett Riverfront Park in Wilmington on the Jack A. Markell Trail. The miles between the two cities are dense with stories of the Underground Railroad. You can experience it on the trail by viewing the story map on your cell phone, or remotely on your home computer.

Trail Amenity Grant Update
Enhancing your trail experience is important to the Future Trails of Northern Delaware Coalition. Having different amenities like fix-it stations, bike racks, wayfinding signs and benches, creates a trail friendly atmosphere, adding to the experience and increasing the popularity of trails.
In March, three coalition members were awarded Trail Amenity Grants to increase resources for trail users. Bike Newark, Delaware Center for Horticulture and Riverfront Development Corporation of Delaware are all working to install these new trail amenities. They're going to be great additions to local trails!
