Georgetown Requires COVID-19 Vaccination for Fall
Following the guidance of Georgetown’s chief public health officer and Public Health Advisory group, and in consultation with student, staff and faculty leaders, all students, faculty and staff who will be on one of Georgetown’s campuses or in a University-owned or operated building in Washington, D.C. this fall must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19. Learn more about vaccination requirements for students, and for faculty and staff.
All employees need to submit proof of vaccination by August 9. Staff will receive two additional days of paid time off after they have submitted documentation showing that they have been fully vaccinated, which can be used at any time this coming year. Learn more about submitting COVID-19 vaccination documentation.
Georgetown has COVID-19 vaccines available to students, faculty and staff on campus, at no cost to community members. Vaccinations are available by appointment only on a rolling basis. If you are interested in getting vaccinated on campus, sign up for a vaccination appointment here.

Press Release
Just a small number of cells found in tumors can enable and recruit other types of cells nearby, allowing the cancer to spread to other parts of the body, report Georgetown Lombardi scientists. Working with their research collaborators, the scientists found that “enabler cells” comprise about 20 percent or less of the cells in an aggressive tumor; their small numbers may account for why they are often missed when bulk tissue analyses are used to inform therapeutic decisions.
