Dear Ballard Alliance Members and Partners -

To help address these concerns, the Ballard Alliance has hired Fortress Security Services to patrol and monitor conditions within the Ballard Improvement Area.
Here are the details:
Security Presence: 7x/week
For safety reasons, we are not disclosing specific hours or the duration of the patrol.
Emergency Contact Number: 253-246-7453

Additional Resources
The Alliance has been working with the Seattle Police Department's (SPD) North Precinct to ensure the department is aware of the growing concerns regarding safety. To that end, SPD is doing the following:
- SPD Patrol Staff has been directed to focus a majority of their proactive patrol in business corridors/areas within the various Micro-Community Policing Plans (MCPP), including Ballard.
- The North Precinct Anti-Crime Team (ACT), Community Police Team (CPT) and bicycle patrols have also been directed to focus primarily on the various business communities in our larger MCPP areas (South Ballard, Fremont, U-District, Northgate, Lake City and Aurora Avenue). SPD will adjust based on what the data reveals.
SPD has also developed a
one-page flyer that outlines steps you can take right now to protect your business. In addition, the Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections has updated its
tips and guidelines for maintaining vacant businesses.
The Ballard Alliance will continue to keep you updated with important safety information throughout the duration of this crisis.
