Can we pray for you?
Would you like to help us pray for others?
We are reaching out to our parishioners to see if anyone needs anything.
Would you like to help make those calls?

Is there anything we can do to help you?
Contact Kristin Kent at kkent@stjohnsea.org with requests and offers.
Here are some online resources to help you stay connected during this unprecedented time in our world.

Prayer for Spiritual Communion:
My Jesus, I believe that you are present in the most holy Eucharist. I love you above all things, and I desire to receive you into my soul. Since I cannot at this moment receive you sacramentally, come at least spiritually into my heart. I embrace you as if you were already there and unite myself wholly to you. Never permit me to be separated from you. Amen.

From Pope Francis
This Friday, March 27 Pope Francis will give an extraordinary blessing "urbi et orbi" (to the city and the world) at 6 p.m. Rome time, 10 a.m. local time. This is a special blessing we want everyone to know about.  Read more about it  here .
Please Give if You Can
We know this is a difficult time for many in our community, but we ask that if you are able, to continue to support our Parish financially. Even though we have cut back on parish and school activities and the celebration of Mass in the church, we have made the commitment to pay salaries to both parish and school employees. We are now projecting an increase in expenses related to pastoral care, funerals, and tuition assistance. Your support of St John will help to ensure the financial viability to get us through this crisis.
Please mail your donation or sign up for
 online giving here.
Asante Sana to all those who are already continuing to mail in checks and donate online! Your continued support means so much!

Something positive you can do in these troubling times!
Can you cook, bake, or make a run to the store for bread?
Please help us make dinner for the men at St. Martin de Porres shelter on Wednesday, April 1st!

St. John Parish is going to provide dinner for 130 men at the St. Martin de Porres shelter.  The menu is lasagna, bread, veggies and brownies/cookies.  Please sign up to make or procure an item and bring it to the front of Egan Hall to be loaded into cars.

The main dishes should be in disposable aluminum 9x13 baking pans.  You can find them in the baking section of Freddies.

Here's the drop-off schedule, so that we can observe proper social distance:
Wednesday, April 1st:
Bring desserts between 4:30 and 4:40
Bring bread and veggies between 4:40 and 4:50
Bring lasagna between 4:50 and 5:00.
We plan to drive downtown at 5:00 in two cars to deliver the meals by 5:30.

Click the link below to sign up for an item, and thank you for helping the most vulnerable... especially now.

For the safety of our staff and to help prevent the spread of this virus the Parish Office will be closed temporarily starting Friday, March 20th.  We are still available if you need us!  We will be checking our emails and phone messages daily throughout this time.  Click here for a staff directory.  Email is probably the best way to reach most of us.
If there is a pastoral emergency please call: (206) 300-0972
Our St Vincent de Paul ministry would like to announce an expansion of our assistance during the coronavirus epidemic.
If you are at high risk or afraid to go out shopping, you can email us at
st_john_evangelist_conf@hotmail.com or call the parish office at 206-782-2810 and leave a message. We will be happy to drop one or two bags of canned or packaged goods from our pantry and deliver to your door. If you have any special dietary needs, please let us know and we will try and accommodate you as best as we can.

Taking Care of the Planet during the Pandemic
The website earthday.org recently published an article on actions you can take for the planet even while practicing good social distancing to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Here is a slightly-edited version of the list. I hope this list inspires you with at least one great idea:  Read more...
