Share the Plate
There's no UBarU without U!
In April, all checks and envelopes marked "Share the Plate" and half of all undesignated cash will go to support UBarU.  The Unitarian Universalist Camp and Retreat Center is located in the storied Hill Country near Kerrville, Texas. UBarU serves UU congregations and other groups consistent with the mission of providing a welcoming, peaceful place to gather for spiritual, educational, and recreational purposes in harmony with our Unitarian Universalist Principles and the land.

Committed to being a Teaching Congregation
The Live Oak Board of Directors is excited to announce a couple of recent decisions. At our November 2018 meeting, we reaffirmed our commitment to being a teaching congregation. In order to do this, we set up a fund that accepts contributions and then quickly had donors step up to provide all of the money that we needed to pay Kiya for her 18 month internship (paired with a grant from the Unitarian Universalist Association).
We realize that there may be others in the congregation who would be interested and able to help support Live Oak in having additional interns in the future. If you would like to donate to the fund, you may send a check (or place it in the collection basket) with "Teaching Congregation" in the memo line or you may use a credit or debit card by using the DONATE button on the liveoakuu.org website and selecting "Teaching Congregation". The Board also plans to allocate money to the fund in future church budgets.

The performance will take 2 1/2 hours, and later we plan to go to La Madeleine nearby for treats. The address of the theater is 9828 Great Hills.
