GET TEXT MESSAGE UPDATES THROUGH REMIND

Royal View Elementary will again begin using the text messaging application called "Remind" as another outlet for keeping open lines of communication open with parents and families. However, because of changes to the service's plans and procedures limiting groups to 150 members, Royal View families will now need to sign up for building generated Remind messages by grade level.

Enter this number: 81010
and then text the following message, depending on your child's grade level:

Pre-K: @kpavelic
Kindergarten: @kpavelich
1st Grade: @royalview1
2nd Grade: @royalview2
3rd Grade: @royalview3
4th Grade: @royalview4

Important Updates from Royal View Elementary

Dear Royal View Families,

Thank you for your continued support as we work through these unprecedented times together.  As we informed you last week, North Royalton City Schools will be closed to students for the next three weeks, possibly longer.  Our staff has been working hard to prepare for our transition to online learning. Thank you in advance for working with your son or daughter and helping to make this situation positive and successful.

If you have not already received electronic communication from your child's teacher, whether through email, Remind, and/or Google Classroom, please know that he or she will be reaching out in the coming days.  Please know the following has or will happen:
  • Teachers have used both Friday, 3/13 and Monday, 3/16 to create lessons.  They will continue to develop learning activities in the coming days/weeks.
  • Google login information for all K,1,2 students has been mailed or sent home.  The username and password will be important for you to keep.  Your child may need the login information to access certain activities, programs or platforms that their teacher is developing for them during their time at home.
  • All students in grades K-4 will be utilizing Google Classrooms and websites in order to access learning opportunities/activities from their teachers.
  • Teachers will utilize Google Classroom, email, classroom Dojo and/or Remind to communicate daily with their students.
We know the partnership between school and home is imperative to student success.  Consequently, if you need support with technology, please contact your child's teacher or me.  Moreover, Spectrum is offering free broadband and WiFi for 60 days to households with K-12 and/or college students.  To sign up, call (844) 488-8395.

As a reminder, the North Royalton City Schools will be closed for the remainder of the week.  Starting Wednesday, we are offering bagged lunches/breakfasts for families affected by the closure of schools. Parents may pick up the meal at North Royalton High School between the hours of 10 - 11:15 a.m. Monday through Friday by entering driveway #4 and pulling up to the side of the building on the left.  Stop at the ramp with the yellow railing for meal pick up (Door #26). There will be a sign to direct you to the location. Once you provide your child's name and school to the food service worker, you will receive the meal.

Parents who are interested in their student receiving a meal should complete this electronic form or call 440-582-9041 for each child, by 5 p.m. the day before the meal is requested. The form or phone call must be completed daily.

As we move forward, please help your child to establish a routine at home.  Find a place that he or she can utilize consistently for school work. We all recognize that this type of learning cannot and will not replace a teacher facilitating learning in his or her classroom, nor collaboration between students, but we will all do our best to support our kids during this time.  If you have any questions, please email your teacher, school counselor or me. We look forward to seeing our students again soon and hope everyone stays healthy.

Sincerely,

Kirk Pavelich
Principal
