April 2019
The Unityverse is buzzing with excitement as we launch into Spring.

The design center is full of beautiful
"Three Birds Casual" teak outdoor furniture to outfit your outdoor living spaces. Chris Sade, Manager of the Universe, is awaiting your visit to the showroom.

Stop by to check out our new retail space located in and around the roadside kiosk where you will find high quality garden tools, organic garden care supplies, and Theresa's freshly harvested veggies for your next meal. The retail nursery has migrated to the road front where you will be greeted upon arrival by Theresa, Stephanie and Kara. Alex will be buzzing around the farm as we continue to receive new native specimen trees, shrubs and perennials along with pottery, garden art, and soil amendments. Please ask about our "The Answer is Yes" program for all of your special requests. Not only will we find your plant requests but we will deliver and install your plant material as well.

The Unity Gallery is now open featuring unique furniture by local artist, Vicco Von Voss and the impressive beehive sculpture "Bee Cause" by Rob Glebe. The gallery will continue to expand as we continue to add pieces by local artists. Be sure to stop out to meet all of our talented staff, to chat and learn more about the excitement taking place at Unity.

Our Landscape Design/Build company is working diligently to install a wide range of exciting projects from environmentally friendly and artistic residential projects to an exciting showpiece "Parking Lot Alive" project at Adkins Arboretum where we are transforming the parking lot into a series of ESD demonstration gardens that will be completed in May and open to the public for viewing as they arrive to visit the arboretum. Along with these exciting projects, we are steady at work Spring prepping many of the gardens we have installed over the years. This is an exciting time as we return to care for the gardens we have installed, we observe the evolution of the original design vision.

Here at the farm, our high tunnels are starting to
produce early spring crops and our greenhouse is full of vegetable, flower, and herb starts. With the warmer weather, we will start planting in our gardens outside. We grew extra plants we so will also have our organically grown starts for sale in our front roadside kiosk, at the Chestertown Farmers' Market, and Chestertown Natural Foods. Click here for a list of the varieties we'll have available. We plan to return to the Chestertown Farmers' Market on Saturday, April 13th, and hope to see you there.

Check out the nursery calendar as there will be many fun interactive learning activities taking place at the nursery this year. During the month of April we are holding a "Beyond the backyard" series every Saturday starting at 9:00 am. Talks will be short and loaded with valuable information you can apply to all landscapes. This series focuses on artistic and functional designs that incorporate edible landscaping into all parts of your yard. The talks are free to participants and we will offer coffee and fresh baked goods for attendees. A schedule with topics can be found on our website's events page or Facebook page.

We look forward to seeing you soon.
