During these unprecedented difficult times and financial hardship for so many, discovering or rediscovering nature is one of the many important life-enhancing resources.

We are surrounded by nature-laden parks and shores, mostly free for your enjoyment. They are ubiquitous throughout Monmouth County thanks to good work by state and local governments, MCF and funding authorized or given by you.

Make the most of these resources now and continue doing so as part of the “new normal”.

Sincerely,

William D. Kastning, AICP
Executive Director

P.S. Did you know that the number of Eastern Box Turtles, like the one pictured above, is declining? Habitat destruction is challenging their ability to find mates and lay eggs. They are particularly active in June as they search for places to lay their eggs. Take caution not to injure one crossing the road or while mowing your lawn to help protect the Eastern Box Turtle.
