The magic gasoline that will make your car cleaner...
Okay, maybe it's not magic gasoline, but Tier 3 fuel is a cleaner type of gas that will make big strides in reducing emissions from our cars.

We recently spoke at Representative Suzanne Harrison’s press conference that highlighted the efforts going into making Tier 3 fuel available and introduced  Tier3gas.org , an informational tool on Tier 3 fuel and specific locations to buy it. General stations you can buy the cleaner gas include Speedway, Chevron, Texaco, Shell, Exon, and Sinclair.

This all started in 2013 when Governor Herbert asked Envision Utah to facilitate a group called the Clean Air Action Team. This independent team was tasked to recommend specific steps that individuals, businesses or the state could take to improve our air quality. One of the most important strategies the Clean Air Action Team recommended for immediately reducing Utah’s emissions was to bring cleaner fuel to Utah.

Based on the Clean Air Action Team’s recommendations, Governor Herbert met with the CEOs of each of the major refineries that serve Utah and asked them to make the improvements here. We feel very lucky to see those changes being implemented today—congrats to Rep. Harrison and everyone else involved in bringing Tier 3 fuel to the state!🙌 🎉
The results are in! Initial findings from the Valley Visioning survey
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who participated in the Valley Visioning survey. We are thrilled with the response from the community—over 11,000 residents shared their vision for the future of Utah Valley!

The survey asked residents to weigh in on important growth-related issues, as well as choose a preferred scenario for the future. We're still crunching the data, but here's a first look at some of the trends we're seeing:

  • Scenario B (Organized Centers) received the most votes, followed by Scenario C (Westward Growth), and Scenario E (Urban Infill).

  • Residents want communities closer to where they work, shop, learn, and dine to reduce time and money spent on car travel. They also want increased convenience of transportation options including public transportation, walking, and biking.

  • We're seeing desire for a greater mix of housing to support a diversity of needs and incomes but continued support for single family neighborhoods.

In the coming weeks, we'll release a more detailed report of our findings. Moving forward, we'll work to turn our findings into the final, preferred vision for Utah Valley. Thank you to everyone who's been involved in the Valley Visioning process! Stay tuned as we work together to ensure Utah Valley remains a great place to live—now and in the future.
A familiar face in a new role
We're excited to announce our very own Ari Bruening, previously President and COO, will be taking on the position of CEO as Robert Grow steps into a new position on the Envision Utah Board.

Ari has extensive experience in visioning and implementation efforts for regions, large areas, and critical growth-related topics. At Envision Utah, he's helped lead the Your Utah, Your Future statewide vision that engaged 55,000+ Utahns to tackle eleven different topics, as well as the recommended State Water Strategy, the Point of the Mountain vision, the Vision for Teacher Excellence, and numerous other critical efforts.

Prior to joining Envision Utah, he managed visioning and entitlement projects for the San Diego region; Laie, Hawaii; the 175,000-acre Superstition Vistas Arizona state trust land parcel; and the 300,000-acre Deseret Ranches of Florida landholding near the Orlando International Airport. He represented Kennecott Land Company in the land use planning and approval effort for over 90,000 acres on Salt Lake's West Bench, including the 4,000-acre Daybreak community that has received widespread acclaim.

We are so excited to see the wonderful things Ari will accomplish in his new role!

In the news
New Provo Municipal Council Members heard a report on the six priorities that have come from Valley Visioning then had the opportunity to comment on their concerns.
Research shows air quality is one of Utahn's top concerns. Tier 3 gasoline can reduce pollution from cars by up to 80% and is now available in Utah with a website showing locations it can be purchased.
As Utah's legislative session begins, lawmakers should carefully consider the Envision Utah study, A Vision for Teacher Excellence, that makes a strong case to substantially boost teacher salaries.
