Governor's Order to 'Stay at Home' and
Latest COVID-19 Updates
Earlier today, Illinois Governor J.B. Pritzker issued a Stay at Home Order for all Illinois residents to slow down the spread of Coronavirus Disease 2019 (COVID-19). This means that residents are mandated to stay at home, work from home, and limit ventures outside of their home to outdoor exercise, as well as visits only to businesses or organizations that provide 'essential services' (practicing social distancing of a minimum of 6-feet between individuals at all times). The Governor's order describes essential services as those who provide healthcare, food, medicine and other necessary services or products (grocery and home essentials, gas stations, fire and police stations, public transportation, and public benefits). Non-essential services are described as mostly retail, recreation and entertainment businesses. This order is in effect beginning tomorrow (Saturday, March 21 at 5:00 p.m.) until Tuesday, April 7, 2020. Please visit the State of Illinois Coronavirus website here and click here to view the Governor's press conference today.

Village Hall has been closed to the public since Monday, March 16, 2020 as a precautionary effort related to COVID-19. 2020 Census Information for
Long Grove Residents
Residents have begun to see communications from the federal government regarding the U.S. Census. Some residents may notice that forms include references to 'Lake Zurich' and not Long Grove as the town of residence, due to our shared zip code. The U.S. Census Bureau has assured the Village that locations are based upon Geocode, and addresses located within the Village will be properly attributed to Long Grove. To be sure, residents can change the town of residence to list Long Grove as their home town, by reporting it via phone, changing it on the online Census survey, or putting a line through the words, Lake Zurich and writing in 'Long Grove' on the paper version. For questions, residents are encouraged to contact the U.S. Census Bureau through contact information provided on the paperwork. Visit  census.gov for more information.
No Turn on Red at Old McHenry Road and RPC Road Stoplight
Earlier this month, the new stoplight at Old McHenry Road and Robert Parker Coffin (RPC) Road was officially turned on. Residents are reminded that there is NO TURN ON RED at all four corners. As part of the intersection improvement, there will soon be traffic cameras operated by Lake County to monitor traffic. This will help to ensure that the lights are timed on a minute-by-minute basis to adjust timing of the lights. Please visit Lake County Passage to get real-time traffic updates in Long Grove and in Lake County here
RPC Bridge Is Closed for Final Repairs
The Robert Parker Coffin (RPC) Road Bridge is (tentatively) scheduled to close Monday, March 23, 2020 and remain closed for approximately four months (weather-permitting). This closure represents the last phase of improvements, which will include abutment repairs, painting and installation of a new wooden cover. Detours will be posted to direct motorists. Please remember to support the downtown Long Grove businesses, which will remain open during this project.
Support Long Grove
Restaurants & Businesses!
While the Illinois Governor's order requires the closure of non-essential service-related businesses until April 7, 2020, restaurants who choose to provide carryout/curbside pickup or delivery can still be in operation. Grocery stores, gas stations, pharmacies, and healthcare clinics are all considered essential businesses, and can also remain open. Please consider supporting our Long Grove restaurants and businesses during this challenging time - not only for our community, but our state and our country as well ,due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Park District Programs Canceled Through March 30, 2020
Due to concerns over the spread of COVID-19, all programming through the Long Grove Park District has been canceled through March 30, 2020. These closures also apply to programs, meetings and other events scheduled to happen at the Reed-Turner Nature Center building. Visit the park district website here for updates.
Egg Hunt Canceled
The Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association has decided to cancel the egg hunt this year as a safety precaution due to COVID-19.  Please visit the Historic Downtown Long Grove Business Association website for additional information.
