Dear HYE Yogis,
My heart aches right now for the family of the victims lost in the Kobe Bryant tragedy! I know by now you have likely heard the story over and over. Why does this happen? Does our world, or our life need a wake up call? Does it take famous people, or people we love to die to give us the wake up call we need? Did Kobe's tragedy make you stop and think about the people you love just for a second?
I was blessed to be with my son sitting at lunch in Miami FL, he stopped and looking at his cell phone said, "NO, no way, Oh my God no way........this can't be true!" His girlfriend and I expected to hear that "his" team lost or something "somewhat" trivial. When he could finally collect himself, we learned that a legend and life had evolved. The feeling of sadness is so deep and my heart breaks for the alive hearts left behind.
"Sometimes in tragedy, we find life's purpose." Robert Brault
Please take the time this month to LOVE!! I got that tragic call almost 8 years ago and learned that my children's father and who once was my best friend & husband took his life. Regardless of how the loss happened, it happened and happened suddenly with no time to prepare. My knees buckled, my breath seized, my world stopped, nothing mattered yet everything changed forever. Treat each day with your loved ones as a treasure. Life can change and evolve on a dime. No one is protected from the unexpected! Say "I love you" before you leave for the day, say "thank you for a wonderful meal", have patience when challenged with slower than your pace, hug when you get the feeling to hug and most of all
LOVE yourself
.
I dedicate this month to LOVE. LOVE in all ways!!! LOVE life -- it's precious and what you make it! LOVE what you have--show gratitude! LOVE your partner or spouse with patience--or make a change! LOVE by giving when giving does not take from you--say "NO thank you" when needed. LOVE without expectations--feel genuine joy! LOVE yourself by making time for YOU--so you can make time for others effectively!
"Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things." Robert Brault
Take life seriously always! LOVE in all ways, stop judgement and show compassion, lend a hand instead of taking, grow and evolve instead of making excuses--tomorrow could be your or your loved one's last day, last breath---
how does that change your plans for NOW? Are you living your life the way YOU want it to be?
Much love & appreciation,
Charlene
