Dear Parents,

One quarter...25%...one fourth, of our school year has passed through the hour glass. It is the time to take a look at how far each child has come and set goals for the rest of the year.  To that end, we will be having our Parent-Teacher conferences next Friday afternoon and the following Monday morning. This is the time to celebrate successes and discuss challenges. If you have not already signed up for your child's conferences, please do so now.  A few reminders about conferences.  Please respect the start and end time of each conference. We recognize that it can be a challenge to be here at an exact time so please try to get here a few minutes early...just in case there is a last minute delay. And, please respect the end time. Frequently teachers are scheduled with several conferences in a row and one parent staying over their time has a ripple effect that can affect many other parents. If an issue arises during the report card conference that warrants further discussion, please arrange another time to talk with the teacher.

As part of the strategic plan we are looking at a variety of aspects regarding the conference practices here involving First and Third quarters in particular. Additionally, we are now able to include more narrative commentary on report cards and we are identifying the best utilization of that feature. We have a committee that is meeting regularly to identify changes for the future.

Thank you to everyone who participated in the Gabriel Project fundraiser, we were able to raise over $6,500 to support individuals/families with crisis pregnancies. As I reminded the students at Mass this week, we are blessed with abundance and we are called to share...thank you for sharing.

Faithfully,

Chris Kelly
