Comprehensive In-Person Help for Middle School Students
|
|
Taos Behavioral Health is considering adding in-person services from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., Monday-Thursday. The program would meet in small groups, with TBH staff working directly with students as they attend their online classes. The program will also coordinate with other health services, including speech and occupational therapy and counseling. This is an excellent opportunity to receive dedicated, personal help for your students.
The program will only begin if there is sufficient interest. If you think your student could benefit, please contact Racheal Pyne: tbhccssrp@gmail.com

Figuring Out the Help Your Student Needs
|
|
Do your students struggle with any of the following:
-
Handwriting (hard to read, requires a lot of effort from your child)
-
Organization (Are their books and papers scattered everywhere? Are they always losing things? Do they have a hard time taking clear photos of their work to submit?)
-
Attention (Do they struggle to stay in front of their computer during class? Do they space off during class? Do they get distracted by one really interesting part of a class and lose track of what is happening?)
-
Reading (Does reading seem harder for them than it should? Do they hate reading?)
-
Math (When they write out math problems, do they struggle to line up the numbers? Are they struggling to learn basic arithmetic?)
All of these may be indicators that your child may qualify for special services (extra help, accommodations with school work). Your child is entitled to these services. They can improve their handwriting, organization, attention span, reading, and math skills!
If any of the above sounds familiar, contact Nicaea Chavez, nchavez@penascoisd.com, and/or fill out these forms!

Having trouble turning in assignments on Canvas?
One of the easiest ways to submit paper assignments is to take a photo with a phone. Then, you can either email them to the student's email address so that they can upload them into Canvas, or you can download the Canvas app on the phone and turn them in directly from the phone. The app is available in every app store. To find your student's school, search https://penascoisd.instructure.com/login/canvas and then sign in with the student's email and password.
