Greetings from our Zoom Faculty Meeting!

Student Profile:
Eve Hill, Senior & EMT First Responder
|
|
Eve Hill is a senior who started at WWS in the 2nd grade. On her 16th birthday (the day she was eligible) she sent in her application to become an EMT with the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. This past fall she became a charge EMT and is now working extra shifts responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are grateful to Eve for taking the time to
share her story with us and for providing a window into what the front lines look like in our own community.

Please consider donating to the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad to support the work of Eve and her colleagues.

Our community has made over 350 masks in support of our local healthcare workers!
Here is a visual "Thank You" to everyone who has joined this effort from the staff at Mercy Hospital in Baltimore.

|
Where to Send Masks Now
Shelly has let us know that Mercy doesn't have an immediate need at this point so there won't be a regular pick up at the school.
For those who continue to sew masks, the organization
Semstresses Unite could be a good place to find the most need:

Greetings from the POSC! The Parent Organization Steering Committee met briefly over Zoom last week to check in about how the different areas of the school are doing (CG, LS and HS). We also discussed some ideas for planning a Parent Organization Meeting over Zoom. We know it is important to stay connected to our special communities during this time of isolation. After Spring Break please watch for a Zoom invite in the bulletin.

Art of Gathering
The POSC is following the wonderful work of Priya Parker, who wrote the book The Art of Gathering and has excellent ideas about how to create meaningful gatherings. If you are a parent who is interested in this topic and have any ideas to share regarding how the WWS Community can stay connected during this time of separation, please contact us at

Just wanted to give a big
thank you
to all our teachers , staff and everyone at WWS who worked so hard to provide on-line classes and instruction so quickly. It is very impressive how the children only missed a few days of school before the on-line classes started. Having the school rhythm in place at home has been really helpful for the students (and their parents!) at this time. Congrats on a job well done (that we also realize you are tweaking as you learn and go along.

I want to thank all the parents of younger children at WWS, especially those in Children’s Garden, as you are having to provide much more guidance to your children. The Children’s Garden is such an important base of our sweet school. Thank you for hanging in there. I hope one day when your little ones are in high school and you don’t get to see them as often you look back on this time together and treasure all the family time.
