Student Profile:
Eve Hill, Senior & EMT First Responder
|
|
Eve Hill is a senior who started at WWS in the 2nd grade. On her 16th birthday (the day she was eligible) she sent in her application to become an EMT with the Bethesda-Chevy Chase Rescue Squad. This past fall she became a charge EMT and is now working extra shifts responding to the COVID-19 pandemic.
We are grateful to Eve for taking the time to
share her story with us and for providing a window into what the front lines look like in our own community.

Help Needed: Call for Photos!
To help complete this year's yearbook a treasure for years to come, the Yearbook team is in need of the following sports photos:

Greetings from the POSC! The Parent Organization Steering Committee met briefly over Zoom last week to check in about how the different areas of the school are doing (CG, LS and HS). We also discussed some ideas for planning a Parent Organization Meeting over Zoom. We know it is important to stay connected to our special communities during this time of isolation. After Spring Break please watch for a Zoom invite in the bulletin.

We welcome submissions of community news, items for sale, want ads, etc. Please keep notices to 500 characters or less. Listings will likely be edited. Please
submit listings
by COB Tuesdays with the subject "Bulletin Submission." Bulletin Board notices generally run for 3 weeks - if space allows - unless other arrangements have been made. There is no charge for listings.

Experiment in International Living - New Digital Programs

The well-respected Experiment in International Living (offering high school students experiential learning programs abroad) has changed gears and will offer digital (instead of in-person) programs this summer. They will hold an informational webinar tomorrow (Thurs, April 2) 5:00-6:00 Eastern Time, and the application deadline for the program is April 15. See

Remote Music Instruction Available with Cornelia Florescu (WWS Music Teacher)
New slots available for private, semiprivate and group lessons, including orchestra practice, are available on FaceTime, Skype, and Zoom.
Design your lesson for 15, 30, 45 minutes once or twice a week based on your needs and pace of studying. Keep yourself in shape by practicing with a partner or alone under teacher’s guidance and supervision.

Just wanted to give a big
thank you
to all our teachers , staff and everyone at WWS who worked so hard to provide on-line classes and instruction so quickly. It is very impressive how the children only missed a few days of school before the on-line classes started. Having the school rhythm in place at home has been really helpful for the students (and their parents!) at this time. Congrats on a job well done (that we also realize you are tweaking as you learn and go along.

I want to thank all the parents of younger children at WWS, especially those in Children’s Garden, as you are having to provide much more guidance to your children. The Children’s Garden is such an important base of our sweet school. Thank you for hanging in there. I hope one day when your little ones are in high school and you don’t get to see them as often you look back on this time together and treasure all the family time.
