Kanolukhwahsla Social Dance
FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 21ST
1:00 pm - 2:30 pm
ICS GYM • K4-8TH GRADE

Our Sacred Gift for February is Love, or in the Oneida language, we express that as Kanolukhwahsla, meaning love, kindness and compassion. Our students will be celebrating this Sacred Gift at our Social Dance on Friday, February 21st from 1:00 pm to 2:30 pm in the gym at Indian Community School.

We will begin by asking everyone to join us in wrapping our minds together as one, to acknowledge all of Creation for fulfilling their daily responsibilities here on earth. Then, we plan to share our love, kindness and compassion through sharing our new knowledge of the Ohuntsya:kekha Kanunya?shuha (Earth Dances).

Please come help us celebrate! Everyone is encouraged to wear their finest ribbon shirt/skirt/dress, moccasins and their brightest smile!

No Small Matter
A must see film!
Thursday March 19, 2020
5:30 pm to 7:30 pm
A light meal and a call to action discussion around working together to advance all children.
THIS EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE AT INDIAN COMMUNITY SCHOOL

No Small Matter is the first feature documentary to explore the most overlooked, underestimated and powerful force for good in America today: early childhood education.

Through poignant stories and surprising humor, the film lays out the overwhelming evidence for the importance of the first five years, and reveals how our failure to act on that evidence has resulted in an everyday crisis for American families and a slow-motion catastrophe for the country.

This information is good for professionals who work with children and families, as well as for parents!

To register, please contact Cindy Janechek at 414-525-6117 or through email
at cjanechek@ics-edu.org. Please note, this program is for adults only.

Their now is our future!
