As I write this, we are underway with our distance learning plan that began on Monday, March 30th.  We are eager to stay connected and provide support to you and your family during this distance learning journey.  This adventure is new for all of us and we are continuously gathering feedback and re-evaluating our plans.  Please be patient as we continue to adjust schedules and pacing to meet the needs of your children while providing a rigorous and engaging learning experience.

Here is a link to the Family Communication letter that went out to all families on 3-26-20 if you did not read it.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to staff or the administration if you have questions or concerns. We will get through this together.

Pennies for Patients Fundraiser
CMSW raised a total of  $22.729.90 for the LLS!  Combined with CMSE & PRMS, the total raised was $41,239.33! Wow! Thank you for supporting our students and this wonderful cause.

Students talk with the author
6th grade Comets participated in an exclusive Skype session with famous author, Jeff Kinney - creator of the enormously popular "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" book series. Kinney gave students a virtual tour around his amazing studio and answered questions.

After hearing that it took the writer nine years to write his first book, one student said "Well, if I learned anything, I learned that it takes a lot of work to succeed."  The Skype session was won by Drew Robertson's mother during a dance competition. We appreciate her sharing this amazing experience with our students!

Distance Learning: reporting your child's absence & attendance
As with a "normal" school day, the expectation remains that all students attend school via distance learning on a daily basis.  This does not mean that a school day in your house looks like it would at school; you know best the time frame that works for your student(s) and family.  If your child is unable to participate on a given day due to illness or other family reasons, we ask that you notify the school in the same way you would for an absence from school. To communicate your child's attendance and participation in distance learning throughout the day, please follow these procedures.
  • Kindergarten - parents should have received an email communicating the attendance procedure for kindergarten students.
  • Grade 1-12 students - Guidance for using the attendance system is available here: Student Directions for the Distance Learning Attendance System
  • As a reminder, parents must call in their students if they don't "attend" on a specific day.
  • If you do not report your child absent, you will receive a follow-up call from your child's school.
