With a background in anthropology and nerd culture, she graduated from Meadville Lombard in 2019. She's passionate about intergenerational worship and living our UU values out in the world.

This Week in Religious Education
|
As we explore this month how to be a people of resilience, you might consider sharing with your family about resilience in your everyday activities. For example at the dinner table you could ask family members:
"What is the one thing you would never give up on?" or "What does it feel like in your body when you do something you didn't think you could?"
In addition to the materials we have available for "Soul Matters" groups, there are also materials for a "Soulful Home." They include activities for our theme of the month with sections for:
Discussions "At the Dinner Table," Games for when venturing "Around the Neighborhood," Ideas for "At the Bedside," and more.
Let me know if you are interested, and I will be happy to share them with you.

This Sunday, Feb. 16 at Noon in the Fireside Room - Breeze Training!
Rev. Marcus and I are excited to demonstrate UUCM's new membership database to anyone interested in having online access to a directory of membership and friends, as well as looking up your own pledges and contributions this coming Sunday. As noted in last week's newsletter,
please plan to bring your wifi-enabled laptop, tablet, and/or smartphone to the training.
Please note if you only have a desktop computer at home, it would still be time well spent to attend the training so you can have access from home.
In the meantime, please use the links below to establish your account and download the app to your phone and/or tablet. For the phone app, our domain name is uumarin, which you'll be asked to enter during the setup process.
Create Account (for everyone, regardless of device)
Oh, and if you are not technically inclined, never fear - we'll still produce a paper directory periodically.

Remarkable People Returns:
Mark Your Calendar for Friday, February 21!
|
This ongoing series gives us time to learn about each other from the interesting stories of individual lives in an evening of sharing and community.
Each person talks briefly, followed by time for questions and general sociability and some sustaining snacks.
Jean Bee Chan and Ken Ross will be our Remarkable People for February.
You might know Jean Bee Chan as the energetic and effective fundraiser who has made our recent Auctions shine with success. But you may not know the story of her childhood journey from Southern China to life in China, Hong Kong and then to the US in 1956. You can also find out about her recent completion of an illustrated children's book.
And you probably know that Ken Ross is Jean Bee's husband (and also an agent of auction success). A Professor Emeritus from the University of Oregon, he might also tell a story about how families can be full of surprises. He didn't become a Mormon even though he grew up in Salt Lake City.
Come on February 21 at 7:00 pm to learn more.
Watch this space for more details: We will have other Remarkables to learn from on March 20, April 17, and May 15.
