Day of Remembrance and Repentance - On June 17, 2015, a member on the rolls of an ELCA congregation, entered Mother Emanuel AME church in Charleston, SC for a prayer meeting. He proceeded to shoot and kill nine of the people in attendance in an act born of racial hatred.
Last summer, at our Churchwide assembly, the ELCA voted and approved a resolution to set aside June 17 as a Day of Remembrance and Repentance for the Emanuel 9 - Clementa Pinckney, Cynthia Marie Graham Hurd, Susie Jackson, Ethel Lee Nance, DePayne Middleton-Doctor, Tywanza Sanders, Daniel Lee Simmons, Sharonda Coleman-Singleton, and Myra Thompson.
Acting on this resolution, the Virginia Synod's Tapestry team is hosting a Zoom meeting on
Wednesday, June 17, 2020 at 7:00 PM for a time of remembering the Emanuel 9, an action step to take, and a prayer.

CCAP Diapers and Wipes Giveaway, June 27 - Bethel will be helping in this effort. Stop by Bethel anytime from now through June 26 and place your diaper/wipe donation in the tote in front of Discipleship Hall so that we can support all our little Winchester area tikes with clean diapers. They especially need sizes 4-6. Thank you all!
Bethel Women's Book Club

As life is returning to some sort of (normality) here, the same is happening in the Philippines.
The children have been out of school since the first of the year.
Schools are scheduled to reopen August 24, 2020 thru April 30, 2021.

Dr. Jack McAllister Assembled an Able Team of Painters
(Mike, Will, Patrick, and John) to give the replica "Stave Church" and outdoor crosses a fresh coat of finish on Saturday morning. It's a great time for a walk around the path and check out their work!
