GOVERNOR CALLS ON BUSINESS LEADERS TO HELP WITH ECONOMIC RECOVERY
In addition to announcing the extension of the stay at home order, Gov. Mike DeWine also announced during Thursday’s daily coronavirus update the creation of an Economic Advisory Board made up of business leaders that will focus on economic recovery.

As he had been hinting at during his daily briefings all week, on Thursday Gov. Mike DeWine officially announced the extension of the state’s stay at home order.

OHIO'S UNEMPLOYMENT NUMBERS SPIKE FOR SECOND WEEK IN A ROW

The coronavirus continues to impact the Buckeye State’s economy and our workforce as more than 272,000 Ohioans filed for unemployment benefits during the week ending on March 28 according to the latest report from the U.S. Department of Labor.

As a part of the federal CARES Act, the Paycheck Protection Program provides small businesses with funds to pay up to eight weeks of payroll costs including benefits.

ANNUAL MEETING CANCELED THIS YEAR

During a recent executive committee conference call, the committee decided that due to the difficulties of the current coronavirus epidemic, we need to cancel all events scheduled for May 19th. This includes the executive and board meetings as well as Chamber Day, Annual Meeting and our Legislative Reception. We look forward to seeing you all at our 2021 Annual Meeting & Legislative Reception!
