From Your Councilmember
You may recall a few weeks ago I recognized CORE Construction for donating PPE to first responders here in Glendale. Well, they've done it again! This time, their donation of gloves, masks, and hand sanitizer is to the Glendale YWCA. While most of the YWCA programs are currently on hold due to COVID-19, one essential program the YWCA provides is seeing more demand than ever! Normally the YWCA Meals-on-Wheels program serves about 5000 meals to Glendale area residents each month. Once the Governor's stay-at-home order became effective the YWCA saw a dramatic increase in demand for this service. Last month the Meals-on -Wheels program delivered over 8,100 meals to seniors in our community! So let's all say a big "Thank You" to our Glendale YWCA staff and volunteers - and the companies like CORE Construction who help them meet the increased demand for meals - and provide our seniors some much needed human connection - during this stressful time!
