COVID Support

Hello  ,

As we enter into registration season for Spring 2021, I want to make sure you are aware of the options that are available to you during this COVID crisis.
  1. Excused Withdrawals (EW) due to COVID-19. If the COVID-19 crisis impacted your performance in a class during Fall 2020, Summer 2020 or Spring 2020, you still have the option to request to be withdrawn from the class and receive a refund. This is a special option made available during this COVID pandemic. This must be done via the petition process using the COVID withdrawal from on the Admissions and Records website

Please note: the COVID-19 Excused Withdrawal (EW) will not be available starting Spring 2021.

  2. Pass/No Pass. The pass/no pass option is still available until the end of Fall 2020 semester. Directions are available on the Admissions and Records website.

  3. Incompletes. If you feel that you are not able to complete the work of the class by the end of the semester, you may petition for an incomplete that will allow you additional time to compete work. This must be done in agreement with the course instructor. The Incomplete form is available on the Admissions and Records website.

  4. Weekly and Monthly Food Distribution. On Thursday of each week, Grossmont College student pantry, Gizmo's Kitchen, has a free fresh meal distribution for students of Grossmont College. Advance registration and email confirmation is required; register online. There is also a monthly food distribution in conjunction with the San Diego Food Bank on Dec. 15; sign up in advance online.

  5. Mental Wellness. Grossmont College continues to provide mental health support for students during the COVID-19 pandemic. If you are experiencing mental health challenges during the COVID pandemic and would like to speak to someone please request a mental tele-health appointment via Student Health and Wellness.

We remain committed to your academic success and hope that you will take advantage of these services to help you during these challenging times.

Sincerely,
Aaron Starck
