February 3,2020

Dear Friends:

I regret to inform you I will be resigning as Interim Minister of First Congregational Church of Bethel effective February 29, 2020. As many of you know, when the congregation voted at the annual meeting to transition to a part-time minister (a decision which I fully supported then and continue to support now), it was necessary for me to begin to seek another call.

Roxi and I will be moving to suburban Kansas City, where I will become the Transitional Lead Pastor of Hillcrest Covenant Church in Prairie Village, Kansas ( http://hillcrestcov.org/ ). Prairie Village is approximately three hours by car from Omaha, NE where two of our three children live.

Please accept my sincere thanks for welcoming Roxi and me into the life of the church community during these past six months. Please know that I will pray for First Congregational Church of Bethel as you continue to make the necessary changes to be in a position to have a vital ministry in the years to come.

With grace and gratitude,

Rev. Bradley J. Bergfalk
Intentional Interim Minister
Elected Officers -
  • Committee Chairperson – Mary O’Hare
  • Committee Recording Secretary – Claudia Anderson
  • Committee Corresponding Secretary – Bill Beckman

At this time the committee will be meeting every Tuesday at 7pm. The next month or so we will be focusing on the following:
  • Completing our Local Church Profile which tells the story of who we are as a church and community.
  •  Develop the job profile/scope of work based on our search for a Part Time pastor. Review and determine actions on how to capture the congregations input/feedback on your vision for the church and what is most important in choosing a pastor.
More to Come...
May God bless us and guide us in our search.

Thank You on Behalf of the Search Committee , Mary
