March 24, 2020

Dear Monroe County Schools Students, Staff, and Families:

Based on the most recent information regarding COVID-19 (Coronavirus) and to further assist in minimizing contraction and spread of the virus, Monroe County Schools will remain closed through Friday, April 3, 2020. The district will be closed for our scheduled spring break the week of April 6-10, 2020.

We will continue to provide instruction through our Alternative Learning Days platform through Friday, April 3, 2020. We will pause Alternative Learning Days and meal delivery during the week of spring break. Future plans will be communicated with teachers, students, and parents regarding future Alternative Learning Days beyond April 3, 2020. Thanks for being understanding, supportive, and flexible during this most uncertain time for our country. We are committed to working with all stakeholders to help overcome this deadly disease. At any time, if you have questions or concerns, please contact your child's school or central office.

We will continue to communicate with federal, state, and local officials to determine when we can safely resume daily school operations. We all are hopeful this pandemic will be over soon so we can get back to what we all love to do. Our staff is so ready to resume teaching and interacting with our wonderful and talented students. We truly miss them.
